Rsonist
I could understand why the Scots would find voting YES attractive though. They would be out of the EU, which means less immigrants ect. They have resources (oil) that could grow their economy & with them being a small nation of 5.2M long term they could become a wealthy nation. But then again there would be so much implications if they decided to go independent. Short-term they would struggle immensely. The SNP have already said to fund the breakaway they will be enticing and allowing MORE immigrants into the country than ever. Whos gonna be able to pay the taxes once they go sky high after (if) they get independence, 5 million people atm live in Scotland, theres more in Yorkshire. And they have plans on already applying to join the EU. Also think it very likely that the Bank of England would have to withdraw the right of Scottish banks to print Scottish sterling notes. It would be truly ironic if Scotland's vote to be an independent country spelled the end for Scottish bank notes. Given the problems of the Eurozone, I'm amazed that it seems Scots are so sanguine about the prospect of using another country's currency and having no say on monetary policy. If there's any lesson to learn from the EU in the last six years, it's surely how unwise it is to have currency union without political union, yet it's still Salmond's plan A. So basically its a fake independence, they want to be using Sterling from the Bank of England who will dictate the prices and then be governed by Brussels anyway. Afroman
Think it will get rigged in favor of no vote. Regardless of the result things will turn sour between the two imo

M.Dot
Crazy to think that small bit of land commands that much of the vote. Glasgow come like London Are you reading it as, those 4 blue areas between them took 45% of the yes vote? I'm seeing as South Lanarkshire had a no majority vote for example, but there was less than 5% difference between them and the amount of people that voted yes.
