Spurs boss Harry Redknapp insists the club are not close to signing any players at present, while Luka Modric is 'irreplaceable'.Redknapp is being linked with Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi, Falcao at Porto and West Ham's Scott Parker as he seeks to bolster his squad for a push for the UEFA Champions League next term. But the Spurs boss says no deals are yet close to bring players into the club - nor is he wanting to sell any of his stars, such as Modric, Gareth Bale and Sandro. He told Sky Sports News: "It's been busy - I've been busy doing nothing really, we haven't got anywhere."There's been lots of phone calls, lots of talk in the newspapers but we're really at the moment not close to making any signings and certainly not looking to sell any of our better players."Harry Redknapp Quotes of the week"There's been lots of phone calls, lots of talk in the newspapers but we're really not close to making any signings and certainly not looking to sell any of our better players."We're not selling Luka Modric, we're not selling Gareth Bale, we're not selling Sandro."We are looking to build a team at Tottenham, not dismantle one. If we're going to push on as a football club we need to keep them players and we need to add one or two other top players to them if we're looking to have a chance of ever getting back in the Champions League again."So we're not looking to sell players - that would be a massive backward step for the club."As regards speculation of a reported £20million fee for Modric, he replied: "£20 million for Luka? They've got to be dreaming, he's such a fantastic player."You know, we've enquired about players and we're getting quoted more than that for people that couldn't lace his boots, so it's not a go-er."I wouldn't put a value on him, I wouldn't want to sell him. He's one of those boys every day you come into work for, and that's what it's about now."I come in and I see him and he's just a great guy, he trains, gets on with the job, never complains, he loves his football."He's the most low maintenance, easy to handle professional you've ever seen and he's a fantastic player. So he's the last player you ever want to see leave your football club - he's irreplaceable."

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp says he is not looking to sell striker Peter Crouch this summer despite reported interested from Sunderland.Black Cats manager Steve Bruce is looking to add new faces to his squad with the £20million he is set to receive from Jordan Henderson's expected transfer to Liverpool.Bruce tried to sign Crouch two summers ago from Portsmouth but the 30-year-old opted to move to White Hart Lane instead. The towering striker enjoyed a successful first season in north London but struggled slightly last term, with just four of his 11 goals coming in the Barclays Premier League. The poor form of Jermain Defoe and Roman Pavlyuchenko has also left Redknapp in no doubt that he needs a new striker, and Didier Drogba, Leandro Damiao and Mousa Dembele have all being linked with the club. That does not mean Crouch's days at White Hart Lane are numbered though, the Spurs boss insisted. When asked whether Crouch would leave Tottenham this summer, Redknapp told the BBC: "I doubt it. Crouchy is a good player. I like him."He is a great lad and I love him as a fella."He is not one I'm looking to shift. We are looking to bring a striker in but he is not one of those that we are looking to sell if we can help it."Crouch himself made it clear earlier this week that he does not want to leave the club. One striker who is expected to depart is Robbie Keane, who is back at his parent club after West Ham's relegation saw a potential £6million deal fall through.Fulham, now under the stewardship of former Spurs boss Martin Jol, could make a move for the 30-year-old, who was a regular under the Dutchman during his time at White Hart Lane.
Livid.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp is urging chairman Daniel Levy to spend money on three big signings during the summer transfer window. After reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League in their debut season in the competition, Redknapp has highlighted three signings he feels could bring top European football back to White Hart Lane next term.Spurs have already signed goalkeeper Brad Friedel on a free transfer and have been linked with moves for Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao, West Ham's Scott Parker and numerous defenders.Next season Tottenham will be playing in Europe's second tier competition, the Europa League but both Redknapp and Levy want to see Spurs back amongst Europe's elite in the Champions League.Speaking to Sky Sports News Redknapp said: "I want Daniel to go out and get three fantastic players now to come in."You can't say that just because we didn't make the Champions League, we're not going to improve next year."You need to keep improving, I certainly feel we need three players of real quality if we are going to compete with the top teams otherwise it will be very difficult,"I don't see why it's not impossible to get into the Champions League again. I've said I want to win the championship with Tottenham. I want to win the Premier League."
"Trying to get Champions League football again is going to be hard," said the Spurs boss. "You've got Man City who just keep buying fantastic players. You're not going to finish above Man United, with the way they're going, so it's going to be very tough."It's very difficult to finish in the top four. You're dealing with clubs who pay unbelievable wages."Every player we've spoken to recently is on £130,000-140,000 a week. We can't get anywhere near that and we're not going to while we've got a stadium that holds about 36,000. It's impossible."

Contacted by us, the deputy director general of LOSC Frederic Paquet revealed that Spurs had offered € 12 million on Thursday. A proposal immediately rejected."Today, we actually received a concrete offer of € 12 million from Tottenham which was refused last few hours. It is the only official contact we have at present " , he confessed. This file is longer than ever and it will open more than € 12 million to convince them to let go Mastiffs Ivory Coast international.

Leandro done£12m with add ons
Guy has a poor track record. But im hoping this transfer is inevitable now.
yeah think it was inevitable anyway, its just a case of when we will actually get him over here.... he needs a pre-season with us to settle in, better get it wrapped up soon, if we are paying £12m+ he should be joining us straight up, not just b4 the season starts.
