I work in the networking industry, and its not as fast in some places as you may thinkas a matter of fact the UK has probably the best infrustructure in the world, ill explain why....places like sweeden and korea have ultra fast bandwidth which they provide to the general public and is all well and good....but that is only limited to their ISP. If you live in sweeden for example and you visited sweedish websites hosted from sweedish servers still you will get the ultra fast speed....but then.....what if somebody from sweeden wanted to access a website or server in another country like the UK for example....will they still access the uk website at that ultra hight speed.........? NOthe reason for this is that their data centre that is providing them with their speed (the backbone) will need to connect to another (backbone) in the UK, unfortunately providing the same high speed over such large georaphical areas is very expensive and is not feasable, and remember they have to share their pipe with millions of users aswell so where is always contentiontherefore a dude from sweeden can visit the sweedish google site at 40Gb/sec or whatever speed they get but then they try to download a torrent where the server is located in Canada or something they will be shocked to find that they can only get 5kb/sec!!!!! (coz the backbone infrustructure from sweeden to canada can only support like 1meg speed for example) PISSED!here is a picture to illustrate the backbone infrustructure of yourope and how bandwidth is transported aroundas you can see the UK has the best backbone infrustructure in europedont fall for the hype of marketing, we really do have it good in the UK relax!do you think peeps around europe can download series of heroes as fast as we can???????you would be very surprised
