Porchy's right tbh, could maybe add Desaily to the list as well, however i don't recall how he was rated elsewhere when he came over,

quality player, Was at his best in a The champions league, was a player who was either excellent or abysmal in the league, there was no neutral ground. think he saved himself for the Champions league nights unconsiously i also believe he was bought to help us get to the top of Europe again, so those two things are probvably linked

Has now officially retired

A true great.

Wanted to go back to South America and win Copa Libertadores like his dad did for Estudiantes, when they won man dropped to the pitch with his head in his hands.

I had a tear in my eye no homo.

Only real dons can back that kinda talk.

Of course they were WC when they were playing in the Prem

But

Was Bergkamp one of the best in world in his position when Arsenal signed him?

I thought they signed him because he was flopping at Inter?

I know Zola was forced out of Parma by Ancelotti

Was Zola better than the number 10's at that time

Baggio?

Laudrup?

Litmanen?

Savicicev?

Boban?

Someone verify this?

Yaya Toure wasn't a world great in his position when he was at Barcelona though.

Manchester City if anything have made him the player he is today - free licence to roam from midfield ala vieira.

At Barcelona he was surpressed into playing at centreback because he was techincally gifted at bringing the ball out of defence and lacked nothing in terms of physique.

Yaya Toure was more influential at Monaco than Barcelona.

We have this argument ever 6 months Porchy

If players like Augero, Silva, Kagawa, Hazard, Robinho, Mata, VDV in recent times don't count that means players like Benzema, Higuin, Ozil, Di Maria moves to La Liga shouldnt count as big signings as they wernt established players ever

So unless were talking about small bunch of players moving from league to league around the age 28 mark like Eto, Ibra, etc there is not that many to choose from

On top of that its already been established premiership teams go for more younger talent which than gets picked up by the Italian/Spanish leagues when the player wants to move abroad and try a new league such as CR7, Robben and Alonso..

Then you have weather, wages, agent fees, culture etc

Of course them Real players don't count

I think you have misunderstood

I said genuine world class(Top 3 in their respective positions) at the time of their transfer.

Italy from the 80's until the new Millenium was were the best went

Since then it's been La Liga
