Lenny
My uni yard is £44 a week, but works out to be £190.67 a month. Our hose has one of the best rents out of everyone I've heard from the uni, and our rooms don't reflect the price. Got a nicely sized room. Enough space to be comfortable. Plus a nicely sized living room, big kitchen and garden. And none of this walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom like nuff other houses outside of London. In London it's rent free, but when I get something comfortable during summer I'm going to drop 2 bills a month towards rent and whatever else is needed.what kind of f*ckeries...Theres houses like that in tottenham still... Trane
f*ck rentingall about the 100percent mortgage Nar, they are getting rid of those. Nothing wrong with renting as long as your saving money at the same time so you can get at least 10gs together for a mortgage when you NEED one.At least 20k, 10 % on 200k houseDepends what your looking for really, but you should be able to get a 1 bed flat in a decent area for about 120-150. Gemma, can you really only pay 5% on a downpayment? If so, hmmmm

But the hosue is live, rent is sweet, and it's not bait like the aforementioned houses next to halls or the actual uni.Already signed the lease for next year. The landlord just keeps our deposit, keeps the rent the same, and will give us half rent over some of summer.Zoop zoop.

All it means is the house prices are higher, and the deposit required is consequently higher. So a few years ago, they may have accepted 5% for an average priced (100 gs) house, which is 10g, but now they want 10-20% of an average priced house which is pushing 200gs. Thats about 20-40 gs. But really, if you want a 1 bedroom place, the price is usually 100-150 tops, so before they would ask for a 10 g downpayment, but now its nearer 15. Doesnt really make that much of a difference. About you cant get a mortgage in 2008 lol
