the response on 1210s>>>>>>>>>>_____________ if a track's too slow and u speed it up using the pitch the result is immediately noticable, other less expensive turntables have a delay. I learned on sum lightweight numarks and when i first got my 1210s i couldn't use them for sh*t, now it's the other way around, which is kinda good because most clubs have 1210s or 1200s as standard. If ur gonna do hip hop make sure u buy scratch toner arms and sum concorde needles.
LMAO, I had some purple numark belt drives to start off on. First time I played out was on Technics. I failed HARD. :D Had to draw for them the following week and it was like learning all over again. Not what I've got at home now tho.
ARGHH MY GORD!!!!!I spent a year mixing at home and at my uncles with BELT DRIVE SOUND LABS and a 2 Channel mixer, It literally had 2 channels and a crossfader NOTHING else. Then............HERE is a picture of me at thirteen years of age DJing in public for the first time. On some NEXT Vestax, with digital pitch control. you can imagine my shock when I was trying to slow the vynil down (as pictured) by gripsing the pivot axle with my fingers. Accidently pressing buttons which began to play the vynil BACKWARDS. Moments after some chick tore up the place with her mixing abilities. I wont even lie to you all, I cried in the car on the way home.img007vn2.jpg

To get the records in time, on belt drives you can hold the pin that comes up through the vynil and stop it spinning as fast. On direct drrives this has 1% effect.

Exactly, it really is about learning the hard way alie. :D
Til now i didnt realise headphones were important. I'm using some anyole Tesco headphones.
Bad headphones then youre mixings gonna sound terrible when its off because you cant hear it fully in the headphonesOne of the most important things imo, the headphones
Bare times mans borrowed headphones and only one is working, or it sounds distorted/crap/too loud. Proper professional headphones when mixing are a dream. Drowns out the club and sounds perfect, take them off when the mix is on lock, flick the fader and done the dance!
