i been trying to get one of my mates to come with us to see avatar, hoping he has given into all the hype everyone around him has been generating about this lol. but he doesnt like sci-fi ideas and wont consider it. the film itself is more of an adventure/action imo, but just in a sci-fi context.

A bredrin of mine came to watch it with us, He doesn't do the whole Sci Fi stuff either and I only told him it was 2 hours 40 minutes long as we were entering the Cinema lmao. But he gave it 9/10, said he never once felt dissinterested in it and the time seemed to pass quick. Films f*ck*ng amazing bugs me when I see certain critics moaning about the Storyline etc. Was fully dissapointed when I walked out the Cinema and realized I wasn't on Pandora anymore :D

I hope this does Topple Titanics record, I think it's on like 1.2 Billion at the moment, not sure how long it will stay in Cinema now? Should be a while considering the Blu Ray ain't coming out until September. I went to the 11am showing to see it, Just walked in at like 10:50 and got Tickets no problem. It's cheaper aswell in the mornings I think.

Damn "Titanic" was sh*t, it prob will go on to beat records if we include dvd, blu-ray blah blah blah"Avatar" still not seen and I'm the type of person who doesn't jump into the hype when all these big blockbusters get released I just give it time, however 3D isn't the future, it's just a gimmick.

Were talking about it beating Box Office records though which BR and DVD etc don't count. I thought Titanic was a good movie to be honest. And I don't see why 3D ain't the future, I didn't know what to expect watching a 3D Movie in the IMAX But it's a great experience and I would wanna watch all movies like that. It's made me actually wanna start going Cinema more often if the movies are available as I hadn't been since Star Wars episode 3.

i saw some featurette which talked about how these days with media so freely available and how easy it is to wait and download a movie, the movie makers have to try harder and harder to make people want to leave their house and go to a cinema and see a film. just as techni-colour made people go to cinemas in the past, so can 3D if its done right and avatar is definately a step towards doing it right. rather than it being a gimmicky concept that gets old in 5 minutes once something has flown out at you, it needs to be worked into something that contributes throughout the entire film and adds to the images being presented to an audience in order to amplify the stimulation a viewer gets from the film as a whole.

This is why I just see it as a gimmick, they want you to stop these downloads so you get a the full experience in a cinema and it will only work with certain films, not every film will work in 3D which has been proved. Films like "Avatar" which make full use of the environment it's actually set allow it to work (only what I have heard). These type of fantasy films are perfect for it.If 3D does end up becoming the future and does last then I'll openly admit I was wrong.
