Didn't Michael Johnson sign a new contract?
Supposedly City are needing to sell alot of their players because Thaksin has f*cked em over. And Johnson can command a fee easily of something inbetween £6m-£10m.
Allow Thaksin, He actually does this on FM as well.

Arsenal are ready to test Juventus' resolve over starlet Sebastian Giovinco, according to reports in Italy.Giovinco, currently with Italy's Olympic squad in Bejing, is one of the lowest earners in Juve's first-team squad and he is looking for fresh terms. The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Empoli, but is being tipped to make a big impact in Turin this season. However, despite having three years left on his current deal, the player's agent is demanding new terms."Our requests are purely linked to the objective value of the player," explained agent Claudio Pasqualin in Tuttosport."It should be underlined that he loves Juventus and would have no doubts in naming them as his dream team for the present and the future."I always remind him how grateful he should be that destiny saw him grow up in the Juve youth system. The club should keep a tight grip on him."Arsenal have become aware of Giovinco's situation and Italian sources claim they are readying a €7.5million (£5.8million) bid for the player who showed his ability with a stunning strike in Italy's opening Olympic win over Honduras.Juve involvementBianconeri boss Claudio Ranieri admitted he was ready to bring Giovinco into the fold this term. The message may not be filtering through to the money men in Turin quite yet, but it has reached the tactician."He is a player who gives his best in the final third," said Ranieri."But at Empoli I saw he was also used with success as a wide left midfielder. When he returns we will discuss it and see what he can do."I think he could easily be the alternative to Pavel Nedved, albeit with different responsibilities and characteristics."

Wenger - We're not especially targeting InlerBy Richard ClarkeGoklan Inler is NOT a particular target for Arsène Wenger at the moment. The Arsenal manager has said he is in the market for an experienced defensive midfielder to add to his squad and has expressed an interest in the Swiss international who plies his trade at Udinese. However the 24-year-old is one of a few players in Wenger's sights right now and he is not close to signing any of them."I do not know yet if it will be the Swiss player or somebody else," said Wenger at the Amsterdam Tournament. "But it is not necessarily going to be the Swiss boy [anyway] because we are not especially on him at the moment, so I cannot tell you more about him than anybody else."My target is always to spend the right money on the right player, therefore the timing of your buy is also important as well. "We are a body short. But do not forget we have Diaby, who is not available, Song who is at the Olympics. We have Nasri and Rosicky, who were not in Amsterdam. Then there's Bischoff as well [who is currently injured], so we have plenty of players." [Monday, August 11, 2008]

Arsenal and Manchester United have joined the battle, and now head the chase, to sign Ghana midfield sensation Anthony Annan, skysports.com understands. The 22-year-old international spent last week training with Blackburn but that has seemingly alerted a host of other clubs to his availability.Rovers were in pole position to strike a deal with his Norwegian club Start, but now they look to have lost their advantage.Arsenal and United have now both made firm enquiries and they will be in attendance when Annan features in the Uefa Cup in Norway on Thursday evening.Annan is playing for Stabaek - the club he is currently on loan at from Start - against Rennes and over a dozen clubs are ready to check on him.AC Milan, Atletico Madrid and Racing Santander are also keen to land the Ghana star, but he has his heart set on a move to England and it appears as if he will have a number of options.Arsenal wanted to take the player on trial, but because of his commitments with Stabaek he could not spend more time in England after being with Blackburn.

New signing expected before Twente return legBy Richard ClarkeArsène Wenger will not be signing anyone before the Premier League kicks-off on Saturday but he will ‘certainly’ bring in a new face before home game with Twente on August 27.The Arsenal manager has suggested for some time that he could add to the squad - however he will not be rushed. After the 2-0 win in Holland on Wednesday night the Frenchman said: “Will something be done ahead of the second leg? Certainly yes, but before Saturday, no.”However, in the wake of that welcome win at Twente, Wenger feels his squad is actually larger than people realise.“If you look at the number of players we had out, you can say it was very positive for us,” he said. “We did not have Diaby, Fabregas, Rosicky, Nasri, Kolo Toure, Eduardo and Senderos while Song as at the Olympics.“We missed seven or eight players out so for me our squad looks big because the players who were here did well.”[Thursday, August 14, 2008]
