It's a lot. Will cut off the need of luggin around Vinly. And the feel of Vinly is all there.Haven't invested in one. No need.. BUT I know some man that used 2 be "NEVER GOING DIGITAL" who swear by this sh*t now.

Tried it.It's fairly realistic.Main gripe is that it takes all the skill out of certain turntabling techniques. And the fun out when one of your needles is bent and you don't have a replacement on you like a twat, so have to end up playing almost an entire song while people are screaming"CHANGE THE SONG YOU WANKER"while desparately bending it with your fingers to try and get a half decent sound.Just saying innit.

^true^, and Marlon, certain techniques have been made easier but the amount of manipulation u can do to tunes now, especially if ur a hip hop DJ, looping on the fly is sick. Also, arranging ur tunes into BPM folders and switching genres >>>>>>_______

It still is kinda vinyl, but digital.Yeah I'm thinking of investing within the next year.Need a laptop and the serato. Is there any delay while scratching or cueing? If so, how long?
There isn't a delay. Matter of fact its faster.

when ur cue'ing is it exactly like cue'ing a vinyl normally? do u just select the tune u want on ur pc?also is the pitching and touching of the vinyl exactly the same?what would i need to take to clubs with me when im djing? is it:laptop, 2 serato vinyls, serato box? just that? seems about the same as carrying a record bag tbh. but i like that I wont have to spend money on vinyl or worry about putting them back in the bag each time/searching thru the bag/being able to vary my set massivley and not being limited by what i bought with me. also the fact that i will finally b able to play excluse beats without cutting them to dubplate/using cdj's.

serato is the audio interface, the software and 2 vinyls/cds, depending on wot ur using. And it's not exactly the same, u can tell the difference because regardless of how quick it is when u manipulate a vinyl with ur hands the change is instantaneous, whereas with Serato, the computer has to calculate what exactly u have just done to the tune. But it's minimal.

remember u gotta set it all up before the night starts, and things like tune requests will mean a little trip to itunes store if the place has wireless....

its sickyou need - serato vinyls, serato box, cables, and laptopit feels exactly the same mixing, cutting and queueing theres no delayit feels GOOD coz you can make a beat, export it, and mix ityou can record your own audio and scratch itits less heavy than a bunch of vinylyou have the software on ur screen and you navigate thru all ur song folders, pick a song and which side to put it onthen you can see the audio wave of the beat on ur screen (nice for finding the start quickly)pitching and tuning is the exact samenow...the problems are (basically reliance on technology):if your laptop dies ur f*cked (it happens)the serato vinyls f*ck up on occasions - scratches and dust can f*ck up the signal which ur tune is mapped to making it jump and sh*taside from that its really niceif you gig regularly id have some back ups like a couple of CDs or small set of records just incase

I swear by serato! Use it every time I play out (5 nights a week). No problems at all. It doesnt make DJin any easeir I just think it makes everything more organised and convinient. Better than lugging 5 record boxes to a club, can jus turn up with ya lappy!
