Lol at how Al Jazeera have got big. I swear we only started hearing about them when they were the world media's link to terrorist organisations?

Allow me if I've got it confused

i think u mean cos theyre headed in the middle east they get tapes sent to them and sh*t?

i like Al Jazeera when im not watching BBC News, gives you another perspective and they usually have some good news docs

I mean before 9/11 had you heard of Al Jazeera? Coz that was when I first heard of them. "A terrorist group called Al Quaeda (surprised I can't spell that) has claimed responsibility for the planes that hit the world trade centre through a video sent to news network Al Jazeera".

yeh they were around but in arabic, the bin laden thing got them to launch in english to counter the negative reporting.

i like press TV, RT, and NKTv (japanese one) get so much from a different perspective and good documentaries

/

i regard the wikilieaks stuff with a bit of reservation still. not because of the information released but how it got released. somethings are allowed to happen to help formulate policy or to cause a distraction for something bigger

Iran's Ahmadinejad dismisses Wikileaks cables release

Iran's president has dismissed as propaganda the leaking of US cables detailing Arab calls for Washington to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the release by the Wikileaks website of thousands of extracts from US diplomatic messages was simply psychological warfare against Iran.

He said the release would not affect Iran's relations with other countries.

Mr Ahmadinejad shrugged off the leaks at a televised news conference on Monday, saying no-one should waste time reviewing the information.

"We don't think this information was leaked," he said. "We think it was organised to be released on a regular basis and they are pursuing political goals."

Bait these files have been edited to cause disruption of freedom and conflict of world governments, why now? why not come out 10 years ago.. well obviously they've just finished tweaking things nicely.

true, probably not edited, but like streets said..its no big secret that saudi arabia and iran dont see eye to eye,

they may have a common "enemy" in israel, but the govt of saudi is a family run autocracy business more concerned about seeking protection from the west from their own countrymen. same goes for UAE, and Bahrain. so its not alarming to have info released that they are worried about Iran gaining more power to.

How they are released is suspicious imo

Don't forget that Julian Assange is a wanted man now, spent the last few years living in airports and sh*t, he's good at evading the law

He wouldn't want anything to jeopardise that

I'd love to talk to him, he must know a sh*t load about a lot of stuff

A member of the royal family once again proving how obnoxious they are.

This is why I laugh when nations like Britain and America try to tell Asian/African/South American countries about greed/corruption.

The only difference between all these bastards are they are better at hiding it, and making it look like democracy is in the interest of the masses.

well obv i aint gonna watch an arabic channel, the english version started in 2006.

it gained its notoriety cos of its coverage of the events after 9/11 and the 2003 invasion of Iraq, theyd show whats actually going on

the US have actually bombed their offices and a couple journalists have been killed, dunno if its by the US, the politicians say its anti American cos they show the other side of the war n not what the military picks out to show

thats why i like it tbh, ill watch the normal news on them events then see what Al JAzeera is sayin just to get the pull perspective

and Esquilax, CCTV News is better than Russia Today, the anchors are so boring, they speak in monotone and the whole aura is just dead

Emboldened, one businessman said that doing business here is 'like doing business in the Yukon' in the 19th century, ie only those willing to participate in local corrupt practices are able to make any money … At this point the Duke of York laughed uproariously, saying that: 'All of this sounds exactly like France.'"

these cables are written like stories

not like professional reports

Wikileaks files: US ambassador criticised Prince Andrew

A US ambassador wrote in a secret cable that Prince Andrew spoke "cockily" during an official engagement, leading a discussion that "verged on the rude".

Good damage control

These Wikileaks are getting a bit fishy

That's what they want you to think
