Good signing by the looks of it, irrespective of what we need right now. Young kid with bags of potential and will hopefully find it easy to settle in this season.Would love him to outplay Theo :lol:What are the chances we will start next week with both Cesc and Nasri in our team?

loljust lolf*ck IT, seasons nearly here, not even gonna rant, i'm done/in other newsMertesacker talks again

The 26-year-old’s contract with the Bundesliga side expires at the end of the 2011-12 season but the club’s sporting director Klaus Allofs has admitted that they would be prepared to sell the towering defender should any serious offers arrive. The Germany international said last month that he was tempted to test himself in the Premier League and made similar remarks on Monday."For a national player it is a good thing to get experience playing abroad," Mertesacker told Bild. "I have said that England excites me."Mertesacker started in Werder’s 2-0 victory over Kaiserslautern in their opening match of the new Bundesliga season at the weekend.

Danish forward Nicklas Bendtner has confirmed that he will leave Arsenal.A move out of the Emirates Stadium has been mooted for the 23-year-old striker, who was hampered by injury for most of last season.Speaking before the Denmark squad trained in Glasgow ahead of Wednesday's friendly against Scotland, Bendtner was asked if he was set to leave the London club."Yes," he replied. "I have done my part as well as I can, and it's up to Arsenal now to sort it out. I can't do anything more."Hopefully it will be sorted soon but, as I said to the Danish press, when I know something, they will."I would like to play at a place where you are happy and play every week, that is the most important thing for any football player. Hopefully that will happen soon."Asked if Stoke were one of the teams he has spoken to, Bendtner laughed , then replied: "I can't say anything about who I have been speaking to. But hopefully it will all get sorted out soon."Denmark coach Morten Olsen believes Bendtner needs to get regular first-team football."It is good for him if he plays first-team football," said Olsen. "You don't play football for 50 years - you have to enjoy it as long as possible."Of course, it is also a money question, but a national player has a lot of ambition and wants to play football."Nicklas has been injured for a year, but he can be a good player again."

Response is that its long-term investment in infrastructure like Man UAs AST has advised for years the club's commercial income won't pick up till old deals renew in 2014. So don't expect any slack in pricesHere come the tough questions on transfers. Fans very unhappy with Ivan and challenge on lack of summer activity.Ivan turning guns on agents who are using media to manipulate stories about who Arsenal are buying that creates false expectation.Ivan backs Wenger's judgment & says he wants to strengthen the defence and the moves to address are ongoing. Big hint experience soughtIvan says the Arsenal board's strength is their 'steadiness' and they create a stable environment. Says achievement is remaining competitiveQuestion on Nasri answered by saying in general there is a point when club has to decide whether player's demands acceptable to wider goodArsenal will no longer announce attendance (actually tickets sold) at matches due to criticism it doesn't reflect bums on seats.
