J. Edgar
I'm not a HP fan either, but from either one i'd go for the HP. mid range Dell laptops come poorly equipped (not even an HDMI port) while the HP has on most a litescribe dvd writer if its of interest to yourself. The build quality on a HP will be slightly better and run slightly cooler than an Inspiron. The only bad thing about HP's is that if you want to add ram in the future, it isn't as easy as on the Inspiron as the memory module you'll need to replace will be under the keyboard. gyal fi beg
Id recommend a macbook air but it comes with a tiny SSD (64GB i think) for 850 which means you would have to spend about a grand to get it with a decent hard drive/4GB ram. I know logic takes up about 50gb on a good day :s erm look on ebay for second hand macbook pros. 2010 models with core 2 duo CPUs are about 6/700 in v good condition and will do everything you want. if you dont want to run logic then http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/samsung-series-3-np300e5a-a01dx-15-6-laptop-silver-11296544-pdt.html thats kinda deep for 4 bills.
