Does Rap Music Influence Violence?

You would then have to take in account of reported crime, advances in policing techniques, a more resourceful police force, advances in technology for a rising rate of inmates . I am just making the point that it is weak to blame using rap music as a primary source for violent crime. You need to look at society and not a source of entertainment which, rap, games, films are.

nobody mentioned primary nor source - we're talking about influence

obviously there's an infinite number of potential influences on any one person

and obviously the culture of a society influences the actions of those within it

but the media (music, films, games etc) influences the culture of society, more so than ever before (or arguably more in the 90s before the rise of the internet, control of opinion becoming less centralised, social media etc - which has looped back round to all becoming increasingly centralised)

the solution i'd argue, rather than stifling creativity or freedom of speech or whatever bollocks umbrella you'd shove 'rap' music under n gettin dinky all in a huff, is to teach children how to interpret media correctly

that it isn't a clear representation of real life etc, that it's purpose may be to influence you in some way, rarely for the benefit of yourself

like back in history classes they always told u to 'check your sources', what bias is there etc

i coulda done with that lesson, n the rest of the country

too late anyway, sit back n save urself

I agree with you but what do you mean this?

control of opinion becoming less centralised, social media etc - which has looped back round to all becoming increasingly centralised

back in the day those of us that frequented the internet stayed in our little cubbyholes - rwd or other specialist forums for example

msn was the big 1 n that was jus talkin to each other

now we're all on fbook, twitter etc sharing / viewing the same information again, the random pic fred being recycled twitter shit etc

the internet will be the new tv, a larger circle of information available n that but it's well on it's way to becoming centralised and homogenised

it could jus be the general hivemindness of humans

or it could be an intentional pursuit for the control of information by the new generation of jewish media moguls, the owners of fbook, twitter, google, reddit, wikipedia etc (i jus googled n clocked this)

the way the old media is slaughtering the internet at the moment is unreal, blaming it for kiddy suicide every day, it's how the riots were organised! pedos hide yo kids hide yo wife etc

we have people begging for our internet anonymity to be revoked, goes back to media influence dont it

the internet will probably be a much smaller more centralised place within 10 years n if not it'll be full of artificial intelligence bots agreeing with each other about what they want you to agree with

i dont know if people were more brainwashed by the media in the 90s than now

agree fully about the evolution of the internet though - in a way we're lucky we got to witness what the internet really is before is started to be condensed

future generations are gonna have a totally different idea of what the internet is compared to us

I duno i was too busy bein a kid I jus assumed ao judging by the unthinking older generation n the fact they would've only had tv n newspapers as sources of info

I wouldn't even call it brainwashing at that extent, it's more jus blind faith in our governments n tv journalism

Check this out

I wouldnt be suprised if were bein fed all this 'whistle blowing', parliamentary expenses scandal, lack of actual differing political policies coalition, can't leave the eu, economic recession soaring prices stagnant wages bollocks to breed revolt

It's all part of the plan, cause n effect

A very wise crazy old bloke once said that this will be the decade of rage and revolt n since then the worlds gone mad, riots literally everywhere

After we all break free of our chains well be ripe for a new world governance, possibly formed under the guise of an alien attack

I don't even smoke anymore

Stop it with these dull thought processes. Music affects mood in the same way literature, film, games and all other art forms. Singling out rap music is a mugs game.

not really

what other form of globally intrusive media consistently markets immorality to children in any relative way?

games are a different kettle of fish imo it's a virtual reality and everyone understands that

urs is the dull thought process

because a large number of things can have an effect upon the human body then signalling out asbestos is a mugs game, keep insulating lads

The violence that happens in our everyday lives influences the rappers to talk about it in their music.

Taking it away from the music won't stop a man bottling another man in a rave, a drug dealer shooting another drug dealer and all the other acts of violence.

The same goes for TV, films and computer games.

/thread.

If the subject was "Is music the sole cause of violence?"

/

Music is a more accessible and used form than films, games etc so has a greater influence than those
