Commenting on the weekend's disturbances in Tottenham, Club Chairman, Daniel Levy, said:‬‪"As a major employer and business in the area, the Club is deeply saddened by recent events. We are concerned about the disruption to local people's lives and the effect on the community as a whole. The situation has also meant that vandals have unfortunately been able to use the events as an opportunity to loot and destroy property and business premises. This is the second time this has happened in our area in recent times. Our hope is that calm and order is restored as soon as possible and that we can now look to rebuild the area and the spirit of the community.‪"Through the work of the Club in our neighbourhood, we know that there is a strong sense of community in Tottenham and that recent events will only serve to strengthen the resolve of all of us to improve the area and quality of lives of those who live and work within it. "‬‪The Club has worked closely for years, directly and through its Foundation, with Haringey Council, elected politicians and community groups to support a community which has one of the highest rates of deprivation in the country.‬‪Daniel Levy continued, "We have immediately offered further support to the community and are discussing how best to tangibly assist with the aftermath of these events with our local MP David Lammy and Claire Kober, Leader of Haringey Council. The Club is committed to supporting its community with help with both the physical clean up of our area and the longer term rebuilding of the community spirit.‬‪"It is more critical than ever that community, business and political leaders - local and national, public and private – now work closely together to support the regeneration of this area and we shall certainly look to play our part in that.”Grant Cornwell, Chief Executive of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation added, "The Foundation is integral to the work that this community does to help local people and, with the support of key partners, we are ready to work in helping to bring the area together as we all endeavour to rebuild morale and the local spirit. "‬Tottenham Hotspur Foundation has been at the heart of the Tottenham community for many years, helping to develop initiatives and programmes that target and engage with hard to reach young people on local housing estates - with the aim of helping them re-engage, by giving them a sense of purpose and belonging within the wider community and by supporting them back in to employment, education and training.‬
DL adding more pressure on the government to assist with the new ground, and too right as well. The quicker the new stadium gets built with much needed money pumped in to the community the better.

Levy literally owns Tottenham now. He knows, they knows, everyone knows that money needs to be put in the community after all this and Levy wlll be right at the front of the queue to help them. All he wants is a 50k+ stadium and they really can't say no anymore. it's a shame something like this had to happen for him to get what he wants but there's an obvious problem at Tottenham and the council just can't ignore it.

The Palacios pic reminded me of something... Totally random. Why don't Tottenham transport all their players to the airport? Levy can't be that tight. Lol.I ask this cos when going on holiday, as I parked I was bait surrounded by all the Tottenham players cars, knew by value of cars, private number plates matching certain country flags.
