I agree with that completely Smads - but equally no one can tell anyone else how to feel about something. The way you feel about racist might be completely different to Numero. Its an individual thing. But to shoot down a white person for talking about racism is really shooting yourself in the foot if you are trying to make a difference. We judge animal cruelty like cruelty to humans. Living in bad place that wouldnt be fit for a human, being mistreated like not being fed or washed, but we dont actually understand them. Puppies may want to touch road and live by a train track with Mr. Fox but we dont think so 'cause we dont understand them, all barks sound the same. A White person will only be able to see it to a certain level but as Steffige, Ashman, your beloved Jack_You and others have shown in the past, unless you're being called nigga or doo doo face or punched in the head whilst being called Paki bastard, White people find it hard to understand. At the end of the day, it's all about understanding of one another. I got one guy that works with me and he asks me questions about Black things and wants to understand why things are the way they are within Black communities or countries. Everyone else prefers to sit back hoping he doesnt say anything racist or tread on thin "that guy" and make their sly racist comments on the side in separate conersations.If more people were like him and tried to understand and question until they got better understanding then the world would be a better place, as far as race issues. I really do have work to do today so I can't debate about this forever. BUTI understand what you are saying - its ignorance and lack of understanding. But by saying 'white people can't understand racism' you are making them see it as an issue exclusively for black people. The only way out is to make it an issue for everyone - can you not see that??Instead of speaking against white people who want to do something (no matter how misguided) why not try and educate and encourage them?And the 'racism will always exist' comment is true. Until black (and white) people are willing to give up their identity and culture, there will always be things which set them apart and therefore things for ignorant individuals to judge thier stereotupes against.

Fact remains, a lot of White people do not understand racism unless its bareface. Going onto a packed train and people start moving their bags to the other side, police harassment, holding the door open for a middle-class White person and he just looks at you like its your duty, being ignored in a department store by staff or being followed by security guards. White people will say "Thats happened to me before thats not racist," but wont think that some people are just rude and some people made the decision based on race.On the flipside, Black people do forget that some people are just rude and not racist but because of how the world is, the first reason that springs to mind is racism.
