Flamini was 4th-choice CM at the time. But he stepped up unexpectedly when he got his chance, and kept both beanhead and Gilberto out of the side.And Diarra couldn't have been kept, simply because he wanted out. What good to ANY company is an employee who is visibly and vocally unhappy? And wants to leave, but can't?
