I applied the Thursday before the Oxford deadline, so would have been the 9th of October I think. Got a offer from Nottingham on the 24th and interview/etc. letters on that weekend and last week. Confirmation from the Oxford college (Worcester) came this weekend as well.
I'm pissed. I'm still waiting.I applied to go to the university campus there though.Wasn't too sure on the different colleges so I just picked that one.

That's deep, should have just submitted as an independent applicant. Anywhoo, got my Oxford aptitude test on Wednesday, really not looking forward to it. Got all courses accounted for: conditional offer from Nottingham, Leeds and UCL want interviews and Bristol want me to come to another open day. Have to take out 3 days to go Oxford if I get an interview, seems a bit extra but hey, not like I'd be complaining if I got in.
Good luck. My sis got the her application for an oxford interview on the weekend, and she applied for UCL and Bristol as well.

just to underline again.i LOVE uni. f*ckin free ass day today. some dirty lie in, breakfast in bed, wake n bakeonly jus got up
make the most of the first year coz it dont mean sh*t....2nd year says goodbye to going out night b4 deadline day....
and 3rd year is goodbye to life itself.
was gonna say this.i have to state that final years are an overload.at the moment i can't understand how all what is requiredis to be complete by July, well May in my casestupid uni is stopping teaching end of may...pissed.
i wouldnt even call what i get teaching. but even worse still its nt just organised lecturing, its done in the most unorganised and non informative fashon.so rather than just not teach you, its almost preventing you from learning yourself.more work than i can do and stuff i dont think i can finish properly by the deadline. thats the normal.im only in my 2nd year.
teaching is the wrong word to use tbh."unorganised and non informative fashon"this i feel your pain on, i've missed my 1stdissertation meeting due to no information andmy dissertation tutor making no contact with me at all, only to let me know i missed it wtf.the prevention of lerning in my uni is a joke.there is an excuse for everything, in my experienceit seems they help those who arse lick and disregardthose they don't understand. which is a shame, coz it will onlybe i who misses out.

lol, it's been like a week and you already expect replies? doubt you will get a place at Oxford now, 2 weeks after the deadline is more than late

Is there a written test? All candidates will take a Thinking Skills Assessment test, normally at their own schools/colleges, on 5 November 2008. Separate registration for this test is required and prospective applicants should refer to the TSA website for further information.

That's why I was asking you how long until you received a response. If I don't get offered a thinking skills test at Oxford I am going to do my College for discrimination.

You can't apply to Oxford 2 weeks late and expect an offer. They're so competitive anyway they look for the smallest reasons to rule people out.
My part of the UCAS forms were submitted over a week before the deadline and I'm sure it will show that.I was not late, so it would be unfair if I never got the opportunity because my Tutor was late on her side. She should get sacked if I don't hear back.

I'm not cheating the benefit system at all.The system cheated me. Remember that.As for the Punto, I see an opportunity and I took it.

Uni is getting long.I'm actually hating third year. The lack of real structure and organization is ridiculous. Makes me not want to hand in work or go to lectures.Damn these unis only wanting money from us. Perhaps if they cared about maintaining their reputation they would improve the quality of teaching.

That's what is making me double think.I am quite independent with my learning anyway and could probably educate myself at home and not end up with further debt. It's just the qualification really and the respect of being a graduate that makes me want to go.I reckon being a University lecturer is easier than being a primary school teacher.

Another thing is sometimes they'll get someone studying a masters to lecture you, and that annoys me especially when they do a shoddy job.Uni is an experience I'm happy I took, but I wish they actually valued their student's education a lot more than the pay cheque from inernational students.
