lol I mean you still have to ba able to mix and ting. Certain man think they can buy serato and turn into Clinton Sparks over night. Only thing I love about vinyl is the feel when blending and beat matching (I hate CDJs). Serato still gives ya that vinyl feel but with CDJ added extras like cue points and instant loops. Most man who move in my circle use Serato as standrad know. When ya buy it make sure ya download the updates from the website as each update has extra features.

lol thats f*ckry! I always take my own needles. Plus if one of the decks fails you can still carry on DJing using serato and just the one working deck if you flip the input reverse button, truss its sick! B) Was in a rave once and the deck just died, lol. If I would have been using regular vinyl the dance would have dun!

i suppose it differs depending on the genre of music you're playing?i personaly havent seen someone at a dnb rave use it yet...but then when tc turns up with a stack of cd's he doesnt exactly get praised for itvinyls still doin it really, but then if its grime or something where vinyl isnt really selling then fair dos, but the vinyl collection alone to me is a good thing.

Yeah my vinyl collection is immense, lol. Ive had serato for 3 years and Im still uploading tunes from my Vinly collection onto my lappy. I still buy vinyl cos certain tunes ya just cant get on mp3 or wav, plus I still get sent vinyl by label mailing lists. Once I was playing in a club and some girl asked for some bait rihanna tune, problem was it was that bait that i didnt have it cos thought Id never play it, she gave me some plainface, like I was some sh*t DJ cos I didnt have her tune. :!: :!: So I jumped on the the wi-fi, went on itunes, downaloaded the tune in the middle of my set and played it, lol. Only 79p, lol. :Y: Couldnt have done that if I was still using vinyl. Serious serato is that sick. B)

lmfao.is it easy to switch from using serato to vinyl during your set? or do you have to rip all your vinyl to your pc?
Just fling on the vinly and off you go. You can even mix from live vinly to the serato.

It can be done but its all about ya set up.Best thing to do is use a 4 channel mixer (wont be able to do this with a 2 channel) Plug the left deck into the serato interface and use serato into two channels, but only run it off one deck (using the reverse input switch)Then plug the right deck into an independant channel and use that one for strickyl vinyl.then you can bounce between the two.Sounds complicated, but if you have serato you'll know what I mean. Make sure your lappy has at least 2GB ram and at least 100GB hard drive. Ive started to use an 1TB external hard drive with just songs on it. And my laptop has nothing but Serato and itunes on it for best perfromance.

im not on one of them "ah f*ck off if u use this or that" vibes BUTvinyl all the way for me, maybe its just because i produce toopeople that run labels and mix and sign producers but use cd decks are promoting the use of cd deckswhy would someone want to buy vinyl if they see the track on cd being played by someone else? cheaper no?the labels still release vinyl but play cd's its just like really bad marketing loli love having to change the vinyl leaving the other track to play for a lil etcdo the pullups sound fake n electricy on serato like on cdj's? or they sound relatively realistic (sounds petty but some ppl can get wot i mean surely?)

I'll get confirmation, using DJM 800 with the right cable set up. But I'm sure I've used a setup & was able to do this. Either that or I got the high pitch whine.......

I get you, I LOVE vinyl, lol. But its not about carrying 5 or 6 record boxes up a flight of stairs because your playing on the 3rd floor of a club, lol. Thats why I still buy vinyl, strickly for the love of it. The pull ups sound different depending on what ya running serato off, if ya run it off CDJs then it sounds kind a fake and electronic. But on my technincs I think it sounds like proper vinly would.

I love vinyl, but if I can play tunes in clubs or even at home from a lapto then thats a lot easier.I will still buy vinyl but will be able to use normal decks for work.I was gonna cop CDJs, but I hate the thought of mixing with CDs.So, my Vestax will no longer be out of date when I put the serato on it and I can mix mp3s, as much as I like and merk the place.

Jazzy Jeff came to my uni last freshers week and he was using a laptop and man was doing bare skills (scratching, beat juggling etc etc) and it sounded spot on. Was wondering that it could have been this.

it's always dumb bitches that come over, usually when ur halfway thru mixing a tune. The flyer for last night clearly said OLD SKOOL GARAGE, and this f*ck*ng idiot comes over and is like "oi! have u got anything we can actually dance to? like sum Chris Brown?" i wanted to dash the mixer at her head, i plainfaced her and pointed to the flyer.
