are you just asking what music people play?because a proper dj would change his music style depending on the crowd/club he is playing at when playing OUT as you said i mean you might get someone who loves grime and will dj grime but when they play OUT they have to play funky house cos grime aint as popular..

Don't you just play whatever you are booked to play?
thats how i thought it was but then im not rele from a "club" music backgroundi wasnt aware that it was so open in clubs?im used to dnb n the odd bit of oldskool garage n dubstepbut u sometimes catch a dubstep tune in the middle of a set at fabric or sumin n sometimes it gets a good reaction but other times ppl are like "the f*ck..."a while ago i went out n some dude was playin rnb next thing pullup and some oldskool garage is on...change of vibe was too dramatic n it wasnt rele mixing for sh*t was just cuttin n pullups then flingin the faders over...surely any dj that has a tune selection can do that? i heard about 3 mixes in his whole set lol

Jungle
i wont lie, i find jungle REALLY hard to mix man...how long u been mixin jungle for?
LOLFor me it's completely the opposite.I find high tempo music easier to mix than lower e.g. garage.Maybe cos it's hardwer to beat match, but once you get it, it's hard to mess up.BOY, I been mixing for like years.Got into Jungle at like 8-9 years old (*Bang Bang Jungle Hits '94 Tape Packs*)

it does depend on bookings.in a sense, that the more club bookings a dj has the more variety he will end up playin depending on crowd and the night and wots appropriate..thats dj'ing for the job, but wen ur dj'ing for the sake of dj'ing u will probably be booked on what u specialise in and what u prefer the most.its really down to what kind of bookings a dj is gettin.
