This is actually true. You don't need much industrial experience though 6-8 weeks is enough in some cases.

my mate jus started workin at a financial advisors or woteva as a trainee like two weeks ago, obv quit her old job etc.

today they told her shes been made redundant cos they closing two offices.

shes f*cked now.

i swear you dont even have any entitlement to redundancy pay when you've only been there a short time.

Well, you know I did that mentoring ting with the editor of Q?

Well, there was a small function set up by the mentoring scheme, with some of the mentors from the different sectors, and Q guy was there

He made some speech singling me out as the best work exp. they've had, then gave me his mobile no. so we could meet for a coffee when they get back from xmas break...

He was chatting to one chick who he knows, he went away for a hot minute and she goes to me "He really likes you. If I'm honest I think he's gonna offer you a job."

I was like

But then I was like all the way home

i've secured a weeks placement at a renewable energy company

just need to make myself indispensable.....

i read in the paper yesterday about a man who had been unemployed for 6 months

he had a drink problem which he didnt acknowledge, however he got a job interview which went well in his opinion

he received a rejection letter, unfortunately blablabla

guy commiitted suicide

only 2 days later they offered him the job

moral of the story: keep on keeping on guys, just keep on keeping on

don't give in, don't break down

lol at how much is say this to myself, its my mantra in life, not even employment related just when life gets ruff.

also 'hold fast' been saying that to myself since i was 10, my grandad had it tatted on his knuckles, its an old navy thing and i just kind of started saying it in my head after he told me about it oneday. its always made me feel strong and kept me from panic when events got on top.
