If this arshavin thing flops watch our only 'signings' be RVP and Theo on long term deals.
Rosicky, Theo and Eduardo will be like new signingsttkk
"Also the players coming back, like Fabregas and Walcott, there is a little chance that Rosicky will play again before the end of the season, so we have plenty of players coming back who are like new signings."
lol snm
final bid was rejectedlol at like new signings. so predictable

Is it true this is the last day you have to sign Arshavin before they give up on you?Lol, Arsenal are proper doing a Daniel Levy. Don't think its ever possible to negotiate with Zenit
Think they've been given till Monday to decide. Word on the street is Zenit might give into our demands of £12million upfront and £3million in appearances, Arshavin and Arsenal have agreed terms. If it doesn't happen well he'll go on strike like he wants or buy out the contract.

Charles N’Zogbia has urged Newcastle to lower his price and to sell him, with Aston Villa his favoured destination. The midfielder claims it is ‘impossible to improve’ at St James’ Park, and says he is tired of the same routine year in, year out.The 22-year-old believes he must move clubs to reach the next level, and he has named Villa - rather than Arsenal - as his preferred destination.N’Zogbia is desperate to be transferred as soon as possible, and he believes that moving to Villa Park instead of Emirates Stadium would be a better option for his career.N’Zogbia told Foot Mercato: “I’m still in stand-by, waiting for the club to make a decision. We did everything to put the club that are interested in contact with Newcastle.“But it seems that something is frozen on Newcastle’s part. They have the cards in their hands. It’s just about a good offer being made.“The club is asking for too much money. All we can do is wait and see."The clubs that are interested remain the same, but it’s tough because they are asking for a ridiculous sum of money."Arsenal and Aston Villa are top teams in the English league, so I’d be happy to join them.“I don’t have a priority. Both are good clubs, but I have a little preference for Aston Villa. They have been improving as a team in the last few years, which proves that they can do well.“I don’t think (that being in Villa’s starting XI is easier than in Arsenal’s), and it’s a young team. Aston Villa’s manager is a good coach, according to my friends. I think he could make me better.”However, while Villa is apparently the Frenchman’s favoured destination, he has refused to rule Lyon out of the race for his signing. He added: “The door is not closed to Olympique Lyonnais. Perhaps after speaking to Newcastle their interest was not as strong as it used to be. I don’t know what happened, but the door remains open.“I’m not upset (to be linked with a host of clubs). If a transfer is meant to be, that’s good news.”Even if negotiations over a January move appear to have stalled, N’Zogbia says he will remain committed to his club. But the versatile player is fed up with the routine at Newcastle and does not think the team will match the fans’ expectations. He said: “I’ll give my best for the last four months if I’m to stay, and then I’ll see what happens in the summer. I’ve told the club I want to improve and that it’s impossible here.“If I don’t leave in January, we’ll discuss things again regarding a summer move. Every year it’s the same - the club tell us the same thing. We reach the half-season and it’s always the same.“I’ve been listening to the same thing for four years. I’ve had enough.”When asked if his employers would let him go if they received a suitable offer, he said: “Yes, that’s for sure.“And I believe that they are going to change their mind regarding my selling price and drop it, especially as the transfer window is nearing its end.“Anything can happen. We have to be alert. I could depart during the week or on the last day of the January transfer window.”
I'm not deluded enough to think a French player would rather come here than Arsenal if both clubs are in for him, but those quotes suggest maybe you're not as interested in him as we are.I'd gladly take him.

Russia playmaker Andrei Arshavin is waiting for the "final decision" over his move from Zenit St Petersburg to Arsenal. Both clubs have been in discussions over the 27-year-old but no announcement has been made."I'm waiting for a final decision," Arshavin told Russian newspaper Sport Express."The talks don't depend on me. I haven't been in touch with the club management, so I haven't heard a clear 'yes' or 'no' yet."Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has backed Arshavin, his former Zenit team-mate, to be a success in England."Andrei has spent many years in Zenit and I want him to join a big European club and show what he is worth," said Skrtel, who also suggested Arshavin would like to play in Spain."He played wonderfully at Euro 2008 and I am sure he can continue playing on the same level as in the summer." ------------------Reports say they've agreed a break through deal.

Arsenal have struck a deal with Zenit St Petersburg for Andrei Arshavin, according to the Russian club, but a transfer is still some way from being concluded. The Gunners have been locked in talks with Zenit for some time over the services of the 27-year-old Russia international, who shone at Euro 2008.Zenit have not revealed the figure Arsenal have bid for the club's long-serving star, although they claim the fee is the 'real market value of the player'.Arshavin, who interested Spanish giants Barcelona last summer, is now discussing personal terms with Arsene Wenger's side, but Zenit say his lofty demands are currently outside Arsenal's budget."The fundamental understanding over the transfer of the player has been achieved between the clubs," read a statement on Zenit's official website."At the moment the basic obstacle in realising the transaction is Andrei Arshavin's personal requirements."

ARSENAL's move for Andrei Arshavin could collapse over his "excessive" wage demands, it emerged tonight. The Gunners today agreed a £14million deal for the striker after protracted negotiations. But Zenit St Petersburg then accused their own star of jeopardising the move by demanding a £3.5m salary AFTER tax.Sources at Zenit said the two clubs had agreed a transfer fee which "reflects the real market value" of the player. This is at least £4m higher than Arsenal's original offer. But a statement by the club tonight said: "At the moment the only obstacle to the deal is the personal demands of Andrei Arshavin."The hitman already earns around £100,000-a-week at Zenit. And Arsenal have made it clear they are not prepared to match that. They have told Arshavin he would have to take a £20,000-a-week cut to join. The Russian club claim his salary demand - said to amount to £7m-a-year before tax - is so high "that Arsenal is not prepared to pay".The only way of saving the deal is if the transfer fee is reduced, Russian sources said.Zenit will only do this if the player himself pays back £2.5m of an upfront signing on fee he obtained on joining Zenit on a four year deal in 2006."The move to Arsenal is on a knife-edge," a Russian source said tonight."Unless someone gives way, it looks doomed."Arsenal and Zenit agree, so it's now up to Arshavin to prove he wants to play for Arsenal by reducing his excessive pay demands in the middle of a financial crisis."
