Soulful house >>>>>>>>___________>>>>>>>>>Funky House.
C/s this, i like the deep, soulful house rather than the funky because of tunes like thisI was bang on it up until lately more and more dead, underproduced, cheesy, sh*t songs are comin out f*ckin up the vibes, i see a couple flyers sayin that they dont play certain songs (seen one sayin "no african warrior etc) and thats decent but its not like i can reach them from where i am, i was in cube here in liverpool last week and that heads shoulders knees and toes come on, i swear down i was ready to end the night and go homeThe music was good a couple months ago and seemed to be gettin better (which in some cases it is) and i still only listen to the more professional stuff from the uk when i do listen to funky but then when you get a bunch of people goin on like their funkys biggest fans because theyve heard the funky anthem and heads shoulders knees and toes and that what they think its aboutIts f*ckin annoyin because these tunes that are being built with all the mcs on dont even sound like funky house or even the uk funky, it just sounds like some cheesy grime, i really do not know how people can rate it..regardless of sayin "if i was drunk i would dance to it" bollocks to that cause i was gone when heads shoulders knees and toes come on and it killed off my vibe

So there is a boycott of these tracks lolI love how things move in circlesten years ago it was the dreem teem chatting rubbish telling people not to playbound 4 the reload and was trying tohold back mc lead tracksthen we started seeing raves like back 2 95, beforeold school special nights etc etcI am in no way a funky fan or supporter (I use to listen to it on deja in 05 with fatal, Marcus nasty and others championing the sound)I have never been to a PURE funky rave either nor would I wish to ever attend one.I have said it before and say it again this uk funky/baseline ting is a rehasheduk garage scene trying to emulate the scene from 1995-2000 that's why I don't really care for it.Are these funky idealoligist right in trying to blacklist these type of songs from play listas allot of these guys saw the direct break up and fall out from the uk garage scene bitd.and probably don't want to see a breakdown of a scene they helped build up from scratch?I remember tippa pushing the circle, house ting way back when no one wanted to care about it when guys like timmi magic were calling it urban house (lmao). So is this xenophobic behaviour warranted? maybeI have seen it before when you had hermit, Ramsey and fenn, matt jam lamount plus many morebleating on about garage how mc's ruin it etc etcallot people stopped making fresh tunes, everyone wanted to prove how old school they wereso allot of sounds were not fresh making the scene stagnant plus with the police trouble I saw thescene I love to this day effectively die.I think these guys are on the same path, I just hope they don't go in the reverse where start seeingcircle old school events sound of 01-05 and just over 25's or them things they done in the garage scene.I have not heard the tune posted, heads, shoulders knees and toes heard boy better know thing and wernt impressedbut its up to dj's to play what they wantare these tunes the modern day? Boom selection, bouncing flowwill labels pour money into these mc led uk funky tracks for them to try and invade the chartsjust like they did in 2000/01 with these garage crews? I can not see it personallywith all that said look out for my self Dj Mad Vybez in the March edition of Mixmag featuring on an article about GRIME. Its a massive look

This is exactly how I knew from 05 that funky would be the next big thing. Grime is Jungle, Funky is garage. Grime turned into Electro-Grime as Jungle turned into DnB. I also knew that when MCs jumped on it, so would a whole bag of "funky minus soulful" fans would jump on it. I'm just waiting for Play Ents to change their name and become the new So Solid. The name Play Ents kinda come like when Destiny's Child were called Girls Time or whatever they were called. Coldsteps = Neuch and will be the break-out success. Its just history repeating. If you never saw it you were too young/never had older who knew what was going on back then. The no-MC/no Grunky ting is them trying to preserve the scene and stop rif-raff from entering really, but certain people I've heard going to Fridge arent desirables and I cant imagine them playing HSKT. Could be wrong about Fridge but the scenes potentially f*cked already. They cant stop rif-raff from spoiling the genre as a whole and protecting it from club owners saying theres too much violence cos set heads got into the game before Coldsteps and them or will want to experience the realest thing ie Circle (sorry Tippa mate). If Funky remains trouble-free by end of 010, I'm Mystic Meg ;)
How people can't see that Funky House is basically UK Dancehall is beyond me. It's bait. They should just go the full distance and turn it into PassaPassa DVD and get dance crews. f*ck it.
Said this from waaaay back last year as well. But once again, it dowesnt take a genius to see that. Every new scene in London has strong influence from Dancehall. Jungle, Garage, Grime, Funky etc. Keep saying, I'm waiting for a dancing squad. f*ck it, I may just make one.

Man dem need to be original at least
Now they just need a "pass the parcel" edition of funky and it will all be complete.
lolCould ust imagine the type of tunes they'd have as well'pin the tail on the donkey''the roof is on fire'
Track is absolute wack but I must commend them on using subtle methods that make it sound more like thought through music.*Waits for chipmunk to make a funky vocal*

And I've come to terms with the fact that most uk dance music scenes have a 2-3 year window where they peak before it becomes too popular and eventually gets consumed by the mainstream so you've got to enjoy them while they last.I remember UKG's windowI remember Grime's windowI remember Bassline's windowthe only good thing you can take from it is that when the hype has died down and the mainstream has had it's fill their is the possibility the music scene can return to something like it once was, the bad thing is most scenes don't survive that long.
