Thomas Vermaelen will have a medical at Arsenal on Friday the 23-year-old has claimed, ahead of putting pen to paper on a reported four-year deal with The Gunners.Ajax centre-back Vermaelen has been tracked by Arsene Wenger’s side in recent weeks, with differing reports stating various stages of progression in his proposed move. The Belgium international stated recently there would be further talks over a switch to Emirates Stadium, although there has been a delay in the advancement of those negotiations due to the player's vacation. However, he has now revealed he will travel to London at the end of the week to complete some of the formalities of his transfer.“The signature is not there yet, but everything is in order,” Vermaelen told Gazet van Antwerpen.“On Friday I will fly to London to undergo a medical. Then I hope to sign.”He continued: “I feel so proud. Arsenal is a fantastic club, and as a child I watched them play.”A fee of £11 million has been mooted as persuading Ajax to part with their defensive talent, who scored four goals in 31 league appearances last season as the Amsterdam outfit finished third in the Dutch Eredivisie.“On Friday, if I go to Emirates Stadium I will be seriously impressed,” he said. “This will be a big change in my life, next year I will suddenly be facing the best strikers in the world.“This does not scare me, I will give everything my body has.“This is one of the best days of my life.”
looks like a done deal.

Their defence isn't that bad, perhaps not "world class" like their attacking options but they arguably need only a back up RB and a back up CB!Defenders: * 2 Michel Salgado * 3 Pepe * 5 Fabio Cannavaro (??) * 12 Marcelo * 15 Sergio Ramos * 16 Gabriel Heinze * 21 Christoph Metzelder * Miguel TorresAnd Ezquiel Garay. Plus one of the best GKs in the World.

I do and I can say he's been a major part in Bordeaux's success this season, he is a very effective striker who can make the ball stick and bring other members of the team into play also he is mighty strong. Not the best finisher though I'll admit but i dont think wenger would bring him for his finishing

Its not like adebayor was prolific when wenger brought him in either, i meanMetz - 44 (15)Monaco - 79 (18)
So this could be our Adebayor replacement...ringing all the right bells atm

Benzema is on his way to United. That's my personal speculation though, no media hype, Just pure Gambino hype.Don't want Van Persie, I never wanna see players from Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool coming to OT.
How rude, we embraced your bubble headed twat.
I'm cool with that, I don't want United buying rival teams players but I don't mind them offloading the garbage to your teams.

Lol at thinking Robin will go to Man Utd. That story had no fabrication to it, them quotes never even hinted at a move, they're from an interview he did a few months ago, which I think was with The Observer or Guardian I might be wrong but it is archived on this site in the Arsenal room. The Sun had f*ck all else to fill the back pages so they went and done this.
