As European football's biggest stars prepare for their domestic seasons, BBC Sport is ready to bring you all the best stories and action.

Starting with a live text commentary on Friday, the BBC Sport website will provide comprehensive coverage from Germany, Spain, Italy, France and beyond.

You can expect regular live text commentaries rounding up all the action throughout the season, as well as more news stories, match previews and reports, all of which will be found on our new European football index.

On the radio, BBC World Service is live across Europe, bringing you the latest news, results and interviews from the top football leagues. You can tune in on weekdays from 15:30 GMT (16:30 BST) on Sport Today and on Saturday Sportsworld from 14:00 GMT (15:00 BST).

Friday

The live text commentary will focus on Pep Guardiola's league debut as Bayern Munich coach, with the Bundesliga champions hosting Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Bayern won their first eight league games last year and will want to make a strong start again.

In France, champions PSG are also in action on Friday as they travel to face Montpellier - champions in 2012.

Like Bayern, PSG also have a new coach in charge this season, with former Manchester United defender Laurent Blanc replacing Carlo Ancelotti, who has moved to Real Madrid in place of Jose Mourinho.

Saturday

Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund begin their Bundesliga campaign at Augsburg, while big-spending Monaco will be hoping to get their French league campaign under way in style at Bordeaux.

Sunday

There are two more Bundesliga games on Sunday, with matches in the Dutch Eredivisie and in Belgium all weekend.

Both of hose leagues are under way. In the Netherlands, champions Ajax began their title defence with a 3-0 win against Roda last Friday, while, in Belgium, Genk lead the way after two matches.

Domestic football has yet to resume in Spain, Italy, Turkey and Portugal

Good look

But again will struggle behind the big 5

Not sure his name but the Irish guy from setanta was on last week doing bundesliga, they had a decent studio panel with Rafa honegstien and didi hamman

We will see at least they have a few channels unlike ESPN and can show 3 games live

Just a shame I still can't get this in HD ffs

Yeah Donk plays for them as well

If Football was determine by Gandalf's theory then they will be champions because they were scoring goals for fun in pre season

Big 5?

I thought it was the Big 1 followed by Fener

Beskitas have fallen hopefully Bilic is given time

They still lack that Goalscorer

Gala have Drogba/Yilmaz

Fener have Sow/Webo now Emenike

Gala need to invest in defenders they haven't had a leader since Servet left

Like I said WHTV is a god send going to be watching a lot of Turkish Super Liga games this season

/

That's a good Bundesliga have coverage because normally it will be straight to the game which I don't mind but it's a half time when they keep showing the 1st half highlights and commentator is talking without a co-commentator

Like Anelka said Stewart Robson is a must because he is the best there is IMO

Ligue 1 hopefully they have Lebeouf/couple of their journalists I don't want to see the likes of Saha et Cisse in the studio

Serie A it has to be James Richardson/Marcotti/Richard Hughes

I tell you what

Clive Allen is a decent co-commentator when he is doing Ligue 1 games

Gala/fener/besiktas is the big 3 don't matter how poor they are usually finish in top 3... Then trabzonspor who make up the 4th big club and biggest outside instanbul.... They got a decentish side this year and the 5th club over last 5/6 seasons is bursaspor...

They all have there own tv stations and you gotta buy there games seperate as an add on... Or something like that in turkey.
