Cesc Fabregas was last night facing another ugly saga after Barcelona refused to back down in their transfer tussle with Arsenal.Fabregas will miss the Gunners’ Far East tour because of his persistent hamstring injury while Barca are also making it clear they will not pay the £40million being demanded.Meanwhile, Samir Nasri is booked to fly to Kuala Lumpur on Sunday as Arsenal refuse to sell the French midfielder - as revealed by the Mirror .The wrangle over Fabregas is threatening to turn ugly, with Barcelona’s right-back Dani Alves adding fuel to the fire.Alves told radio station RAC1: “I am convinced Cesc will join us. Arsenal are in tourist class, Barcelona are in business class and any player would want to join us.”Barcelona president Sandro Rosell last night claimed Fabregas is desperate to move to the Nou Camp and says they are determined to get their man.But the European champions are also sticking to their guns over youngsters Hector Bellerin and Jon Toral, both 16, who left Barca to join Arsenal for just £350,000 each - a set amount for training fees.Barcelona value the pair at £7m and want that worked into any deal, so they will claim their next offer is worth £37m - although in reality they will only be offering £30m cash."I like the fact that players want to come to Barcelona," said Rosell. "The situation with Cesc is still the same though.“It would be very good if he does come back. We will just have to let things run their course and hope that they flow in our favour.”Barca sporting director Andoni Zubizaretta added: “The subject has not stopped. Now we want a movement from Arsenal because really the decision corresponds to them.“But today is not the day to talk about everything that happens regarding Cesc, whether they exist or not.“They are things that will happen in time, in the future. We will not talk about signings until we have done the deal. When they are facts we shall talk.“We respect the clubs that own the players that we would like to sign. We work along the lines of respect.”It leaves Fabregas in limbo and working in the gym on his own until his future is resolved and that is now likely to drag on until August. Some Spanish media have reported that Barca had set Sunday as a cut-off date, but that is believed to be a red herring - Barcelona simply do not want him to go to the Far East. And Fabregas will not be going, with the hamstring providing a convenient sicknote.Arsenal are resigned to losing their captain but still believe they can persuade Nasri to stay, despite strong interest from Manchester City, Manchester United and Inter Milan.Nasri, 24, has been offered a new £90,000-a-week contract and Arsenal must decide whether to sell now or let him go into the final year of his contract.Gunners boss Arsene Wenger does not want to sell and believes he can talk Nasri - who returns to training today - into signing a new deal.Nasri fancies United over City but may also be willing to sit out the last 12 months to get his move if Arsenal refuse to sell. The Gunners will take him to the Far East, adamant that even a £25m bid will not be enough to make them part with the player.Nicklas Bendtner and Denilson - both up for sale this summer, with the latter interesting Deportivo La Coruna - set to fly out on Sunday as well. However, Abou Diaby won’t go because of an ankle injury that may jeopardise any potential transfer.Arsenal’s new £12m signing Gervinho underwent a medical yesterday and will be on the plane on Sunday.Wenger is also closing in on Valencia’s Spanish star Juan Mata, who is believed to be keen on joining Arsenal, as is Bolton’s Gary Cahill. The club also want to complete a deal for Southampton's 17-year-old winger Alex Chamberlain, 17, with Saints' left-back Luke Shaw, 16, to be thrown into any transfer.

Arsene Wenger will launch a £27million move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema in an attempt to offset the likely loss of Arsenal stars Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.Fabregas is close to a £34m move to Barcelona while Sportsmail revealed on Wednesday that Manchester City believe they have clinched the £19m signing of Nasri, having already landed Gael Clichy from the Emirates for £7m.Benzema is the man Wenger wants to help Arsenal forget about the pending departures of their midfield duo and he is willing to smash the club's transfer record to do it.The Arsenal boss knows losing Fabregas and Nasri will have a detrimental effect on supporter morale, although he will make one last bid to keep Nasri with the offer of a £100,000-a-week contract.Arsenal are expected to announce the £10.7m signing of Lille striker Gervinho on Friday. The 24-year-old passed a medical on Wednesday but confirmation of the signing has been delayed by a small problem with paperwork. However, Wenger is still keen to sign another top-class forward to take the goalscoring burden off the injury prone Robin van Persie. While Wenger recognises the goalscoring impact Benzema could have on the pitch, the Frenchman also hopes that signing his 24-year-old compatriot will prove to the club's current crop of stars that they can achieve their career ambitions with the Gunners.Benzema was in and out of Jose Mourinho's team last season due to injuries and a lack of form. Real president Florentino Perez and his adviser Zinedine Zidane are keen for the France striker to stay in Spain. But Mourinho wants to offload Benzema to fund a move for Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero.Fabregas hopes to complete his move to Barcelona by the end of Friday after making it clear to Wenger that he wants to return to the Catalan team. The clubs are still haggling over the finer details of the deal, with Barca keen to use Brazilian left back Maxwell as a makeweight.Wenger wants Leighton Baines to replace Clichy but has balked at Everton's £15m price tag and Barca hope the inclusion of Maxwell, 29, in the deal will be enough to finally land Fabregas.Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2012037/Kari-Benzema-wanted-Arsenal.html#ixzz1RMlqgV5Q
Tottenham are to press ahead in their efforts to beat Arsenal to Spain Under 21 star Juan Mata amid continuing uncertainty over the future of Luka Modric.Valencia have admitted there is fierce competition for the winger from two English clubs, with the Spaniards willing to sell for £21million.Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy last night repeated his determination to keep Modric but the player has declared his intention to leave.Arsenal are in a strong position to sign Mata and have opened negotiations, but Tottenham hope they can convince him White Hart Lane would be his best career move.Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2012006/Tottenham-want-Juan-Mata.html#ixzz1RMm99gXR

Back in training this week with Arsenal, Bacary Sagna is delighted to find his team. With it, he hopes to "do better than last season," as he told us exclusively. (Photo News-Sports)Improve. This is the leitmotif of Bacary Sagna. Recently returned from vacation, the right side of Arsenal 'hopes to make a good season, "as he told us on Thursday, shortly before training. "We must do better than the last, warns the French international, who finished fourth in the Championship. I do not go too far. "The painful memory of the past few months is still fresh in the minds of Gunner. Londoners, then race on the four tables (Champions League, Premier League, Cup, League Cup), had lived an ugly period in March and said goodbye to all their dreams of glory. The trophy is still in dust.An early Championship monstrous!"Do not plan too much, take the matches one after the other, simply said the former Auxerre. The holidays were good. Physically but especially mentally. "Now, up to prepare summer with all the medical and physical tests. "It comes slowly. Everyone needed it. "Especially since the Gunners will be in the thick of things right from the start of the Premier League, Newcastle, Liverpool and Manchester United are on the menu in the first three days. No less! "Every year is like that, he admits. Last season, we began with Liverpool (1-1). There was no time to think, all the better. "- Tanguy Sevilla
:D Think Sagna's might be one of my favourite players.
