Why sign Samba when we play a high line?I don't watch many Blackburn matches but could someone tell me if Samba gets turned by his target man would he have the pace to make up 10 yards on an attacker clear through on goal?Argh!I just don't know what to think, at the moment any signing is good and considering he is 27 with experience at £9m he could be a snip but does anyome agree this isn't the signing to bring us to the next level?"what is the next level" for us it has to be dealing with the smaller teams to get us those extra 15 points, that might be being able to deal with arial attacks in away games and some organisation in the backline, along with the mindset to enjoy the fight and play dirty which looks right up Samba's street.Ok, I'm kinda swaying to approving of this move but I do hope he doesn't play in Europe because I think Koscielney is tailor made for that stage and has looked comfortable. But deep down inside, I know I'd rather have a young defender like Jones, Tiago Silva, Howedes, Hummels as I do have my doubts about Samba's overall quality, but is there a difference between quallity at the highest level and quallity at the lowest level baring the obvious assumption then ok I agree with the decision.Maybe Wenger is creating a "Premier League" side along with a "European" side for example; We might see more; Lansbury, Samba, Frimpong than Cesc, Wilshere, DiabyIf we have to match those teams at "their" level to stand a chance then I'm all for it.

I see it more as a tactical optionBut then again that means I beleive wenger has decided he needs tactical alternatives to win certain gamesWhich is an oxymoronGames like Barca Samba would make little difference to our defensive unit if not make it worseBut games like Stoke away on a shitty winters evening he would make a world of difference

Samba seems to be doing very well for me on fifa still :D tbh Samba will be fine, NO hes not the fastest guy on the pitch, but he can defend well against set pieces, and gets a few decent goals from headers himself More than anything i think he offers leadership, something im not Cahill doesBlackburn have used him as a striker last season a few times from what i rememberill sign Forehead in jan and see wagwan

Samba will improve the squad as I hope Parker, Cahill, etc would too. When Henry always talk about his adaptation to the Premier League he cites training games with Keown, Adams, etc... As helping him on matchdays as he was use to the English game, accepted it and got on with it. You get the feeling some of our players even after three years and getting the English game, dont accept it or get on with it.So if Samba makes Chamakh less of a p*ssy, toughen van Persie's & Walcott's fragile bones, makes our centre-backs and squad attack the ball with some much needed desire then its a good signing.
