Somebody 'should' have intervened in Sudan, Chechnya, Rwanda, and should be doing more in the Congo

But let's be realistic here. Wars cost money. A lot of money. Why are you going to spend bilions and billions of your country's dollars to intervene in a place where there's no financial return?

So you suggest we just sit back and watch whole peoples being hacked up by machetes? Children n sh*t

We will never progress as a race if we continue to let that sort of thing occur

what do you know about their internal problems? who made anyone a judge.

why dont the US and UK intervene into the killings happening in mexico? theres a million cases of injustice in the UK alone

deal with those first then look for others because theres no more problems at home to deal with. The so called do gooder nations

have already whored themselves out to every tom d*ck and harry so they have no place in taking action how ever moral, when it suits them

when a dictators time is up, its up. Europe fought each other for 1000yrs, someone got tired no?

You cannot compare systematic murder to problems in the UK/ US

A Libyan source said that contracts worth a total of 296 million euros (£199 million) had been signed. One deal for 168 million euros was for Milan anti-tank missiles and the other for 128 million euros was for communications systems, the source said.

Former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown had intervened to agree a £285 million weapons deal with a British company on the Libyan despot Muammer Qaddafi.

Meanwhile reports had it that the UK government exported sniper rifles to Libya only months before the Libyan dictator's thugs started murdering pro-democracy protesters in the country.

Britain sold Libya about 400 million pounds worth of military and paramilitary equipment in the year ending September 30, 2010, according to Foreign Office statistics.

Speaking in Wolfeboro, a resort near Boston, Mr Sarkozy, 52, insisted there was no connection between France's role in securing the release of five Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian doctor from Libya and the African country's subsequent decision to buy anti-tank missiles and radio systems worth £200 million from a largely French owned company.

Russia is to supply Libya with small-arms and other weapons to the value of $1.8bn (£1.1bn, 1.3bn euros), Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has announced.

so the money has already been made, no need to recoup any investment by hypocritically "intervening", thats just being f*ck*ng greedy....oh wait.

They sold them a product mate. I really don't get what your problem with this is. Some countries manufacture arms, others want to buy them. So they agree a price and do it. if Gadaffi wants to buy anti-tank missiles from France I dopn't understand why that makes France the bad guy in your mind.

that makes no sense..and that was an internal american problem which didnt require intervention from a foreign power to be stopped.

lol @ you lot crying about cameron getting ready for the oil takeover

i don't hear you complaining about having a first-world health service, or paved roads, or any of the other sh*t that you enjoy in britain. cos that's how it got paid for

My doctor is egyptian still. and actually, the hospitals and first world stuff britain has wasnt paid for by oil

just that Oil is important to maintain that first world economy and they want to use the power they gained through slavery and colonialism

i would rather we had no Oil to buy, than to prop up dictators who enslave their people.

and ulysses, the west isnt damned if they do..they are dammed when their actions have hidden agendas.

Nato wasnt dammed when it went into Kosovo, but its not their place to go to libya unless the UN sanctions it. and the UN is woefully inept BECAUSE of the west

not for any other reason.

Nah mate the United Nations is flawed because every country has different and competing interests, what may be good for America is not always in the best interest of China or Russia. So this problem rears its head when it comes to securing unanimity on a security council vote. For example, Britain and the US want to impose sanctions on Sudan or Zimbabwe, they can't because China who has commercial interests in those countries vote it down.

There was no solid case for the war in Kosovo tbh. Nato was damned by Russia when it went into Kosovo. The Russians share a slavic orthodox kinship with the serbs, and didn't take to kindly to that intervention. NATO did not even have the backing of the UN Security Council. The Kosovan Liberation Army was a listed as a terrorist organization for some time, the current prime minster of Kosovo is currently being implicated in organ trafficking. British defense secretary George Robertson during parliamentary testimony: "Up until (January 1999) the KLA were responsible for more deaths in Kosovo than the Yugoslav authorities had been.

"i would rather we had no Oil to buy, than to prop up dictators who enslave their people." That's bullshit man, Civilization as we know it depends on oil.

one of the stories not being reported much is the innocent lynchings of so called sub saharan africans being claimed are acting as mercenaries. many of them are actually just dark skinned libyans. many have been butchered claiming they are foreigners when its not really the case.

And, darker skinned african migrants are being singled out and turned away at Tunisian borders.

Yeah this is an extremely sad situation, and an example of little talked about Arab on Black racism.
