Harry Out

So when is the jig officially up with 'Arry? I really hope he doesn't f*ck this England audition up, because I need him gone. For 3 straight weeks he's gone and put out a 4-4-2, hoped for the best, and then been completely out coached by his opponent. We'll scrape into the CL, JUST, but we'll have done absolutely nothing except play to par by beating bad teams but not good ones. That might be good enough for 3rd place, but it's by no means the "achievement" certain people would have us believe.

Nothing would please me more than for him to repeat this sh*t for England. He absolutely slaughtered Capello while he was there, and talked himself up for the job pretty much the whole time. It's now nearly put up or shut up time, and not even his mates in the media will be able to keep covering for him.

Harry Redknapp has revealed how he "got the needle" from former England boss Fabio Capello after criticising his tactics on television.

The Tottenham manager is the overwhelming favourite to succeed Capello as England boss following the Italian's resignation, with the Football Association still conducting the recruitment process.

Speaking in an interview for the Radio Times with former Spurs chairman Lord Sugar, Redknapp talks about the pressures of management but also how easy it can be to upset people even while working as a pundit.

"I did an England game at Wembley about two years ago and I said: 'I can't believe we're playing Steven Gerrard on the left wing'. Fabio got the needle with me because he thought I had criticised him and he didn't like it, but I was only just giving him my opinion."

Redknapp also recalled how he had upset England striker Darren Bent - who is set to miss Euro 2012 through injury - during their time together at Tottenham.

"You've got to be careful. I once said, 'My old woman could have scored that', about a goal Darren Bent missed," Redknapp recalled.

"Bent then sulked, rang his agent, his agent rings the chairman and says he ain't happy and wants to leave. It was only the truth, wasn't it?"

it's not like he would ever play a central midfielder out on the left though, is it?

#thfc Redknapp: 'Adebayor has a little bit of a hamstring problem so we're waiting to see how he is'. Lennon also out with hamstring.

#thfc Redknapp: 'The priority is getting to the cup final and getting that Champions League place. That's where we are now'

#thfc Redknapp on recent form: 'We haven't had the results but I've got no problem with the performances'.

thfc Redknapp: 'We've had tough games. If they (the three league defeats) had been spread out over the season no-one would have noticed'.

#thfc Redknapp: 'If you look back over the last 10 years we would probably have averaged (a total of) 2 points from those games'.

#thfc Redknapp: 'Since I've been in football, I've probably never had a team that had as much of the game vs Man United as we did that day'

#thfc Redknapp: 'If we finish in the top four I think we've over-punched our weight - way over - but I think we will finish in the top four'

He needs to let this United game go as well. We didn't batter them, we didn't create any chances, and we weren't unlucky to lose. Not everyone is as stupid as he thinks, and going on and on about it isn't going to make anyone start believing it. We've been sh*t for a month now, focus on that rather than always trying to make out you're doing an amazing job.

Harry has said he expects to be England Manager at the Euros and its very likely he will remain there after.

A new contract offer will not make a difference now.

Sorry guys

Good.

This is a manager nearly four years into his job just casually admitting he hasn't been able to take the team forward even one position. And, even worse, acting like it's an impossible job. In the middle of one of the shittest top 6s for years.

Add to that Levy not actually trusting him with the club's money and the distraction from this England thing. Surely Daniel is just waiting for the opportunity to tell him to f*ck off.

lol Redknapp had literally no idea what to do tonight, one of his worst tactical performances in a long old while. Being Harry though, I'm sure he'll just rattle on about Muamba and everyone will pat him on the back and sympathise with how difficult his job must have been this week.

Most corners awarded:

Liverpool – 243

Tottenham – 203

Man Utd – 199

Arsenal – 198

Chelsea – 197

Most goals from corners:

Man City – 13

Man Utd – 10

Blackburn / West Brom – 8

Norwich – 7

121 - Spurs have taken 121 corners since they last netted a goal from a corner situation in the Premier League. Distant.
0 - Tottenham haven't scored from a Prem Lge free kick since 1 Jan 2011 & since 26 Jan 2010 for a direct free kick shot. Dearth.
Harry Redknapp admits that Tottenham are failing to make the most of their set pieces, and concedes that his side’s lack of aerial power is “a problem”.

“If you looked at us the other night against Stoke, we really had two people in our side who were over six foot - Ledley King and Younes Kaboul. We were a small small team. That is a problem,” said Redknapp.

“It’s an area we could look to improve. If we could find a couple of 6ft 4ins players who are really good and strong in the air, we would improve.

“But other than that, I think we really have to play short corners. I think we have to try to work the ball because, certainly the other night against Stoke, we were never really going to score by putting the ball into the box.

and he hates being called a wheeler-dealer, yet the solution to us being useless is to go out and buy a couple of 6' 4" players? right...

Saha, Bale, Adebayor, King, Kaboul, Krancjar....ALL 6ft-plus

remember this from last season?

The Dutch playmaker said: "Harry is a very special man, that's why I already feel at home at Spurs. It feels like I'm back on the street. There are no long and boring speeches about tactics, like I was used to at Real Madrid. There is a clipboard in our dressing room but Harry doesn't write anything on it!

"It's very relaxed. The gaffer gives us the line-up 20 minutes before we go out to do our warm-up. And the only words he speaks to me are 'You play left or right, work hard, have fun and show the fans your best'. Then the defenders get an instruction about who to mark at corners and free-kicks — and that's it."

The Dutch Master, who has hit seven goals already this season, says training at Tottenham is equally low-key. He added: "It's not that we do nothing — but it's close to that.

"For instance, last weekend Gareth Bale scored a header against Blackburn from my corner. But we didn't train one minute on it, it was pure luck. Good kicking, good heading, nothing more...
