"There is a clipboard in our dressing room but Harry doesn't write anything on it! "It's very relaxed. The gaffer gives us the line-up 20 minutes before we go out to do our warm-up. "And the only words he speaks to me are 'You play left or right, work hard, have fun and show the fans your best'. "Then the defenders get an instruction about who to mark at corners and free-kicks - and that's it." The Dutch Master, who has hit seven goals already this season, says training at Tottenham is equally low-key. He added: "It's not that we do nothing - but it's close to that. "For instance, last weekend Gareth Bale scored a header against Blackburn from my corner. "But we didn't train one minute on it, it was pure luck. Good kicking, good heading, nothing more.
VDV on Harry's tactics lol

"I’ve said before that we probably need at least three players to improve the team."
I'm f*ckin sick of hearing twitch say this. The cunts been saying the same sh*t for 18 months now.....
He says this then the lists of names he comes out of these players to improve the team to turn us into 'champions' is a joke. The reason why we can't even spend big without thinking is 'cause this c*nt is not even going to be our manager next year so what happens if we buy his shitty players and then the new manager next year don't want them.

another gem from harry, last paragraph.

Tottenham Hotspur are powerless to compete in a transfer market inflated by Manchester City and the other members of last season's top four, according to Harry Redknapp. The Spurs manager is eager to add to his squad and retain key players, notably Luka Modric, but he has been frustrated as other clubs invest heavily before Uefa's financial fair‑play rules come into force from 2014.Spurs have signed one senior player this summer – the 40-year-old goalkeeper Brad Friedel on a free transfer – and while funds have been made available for transfer fees, the club's strict wage structure has held them back. Their £22m bid for the Valencia winger Juan Mata on Friday may only bear fruit if Spurs remain sole bidders. Redknapp joked: "We were interested in Sergio Agüero but he wanted £250,000 a week in wages. We were only £220,000 short."Redknapp's concern is that after missing out on Champions League football this season, the club's situation will only worsen as they struggle to match Chelsea's and City's cash resources, or Arsenal's and Manchester United's ability to generate funds through vastly bigger stadiums."You're looking to be a top‑four team and it's difficult; we can't pay the wages that those clubs pay basically," the Spurs manager said. "The chairman [Daniel Levy] runs the club well, you get 36,000 people, you're not going to put the club in hot water."I think the wages have gone crazy. That is the problem. It's gone beyond all belief in the last little spell. We're well set up for financial fair play but it doesn't help when you look at what you're up against. It's like when you're a kid and they give you the most improved player of the year award – you're useless."Warding off interest in the club's leading players has also proved to be a challenge. Interest in Gareth Bale has been tentative but is expected to increase over the next year, but Modric's future has been hotly debated over the close season.A throat infection kept the Croatia playmaker out of Spurs' 3-2 friendly win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, although Redknapp is optimistic that Modric will remain a Spurs player beyond 1 September."Obviously Chelsea have made it plain they wanted Luka but we want to keep him, and I'm sure we will," he said."I think we will bring one or two more players in, too. The chairman's trying, desperately. So we might get a bit stronger. But you know [sir Alex] Ferguson has come out and said that there are five teams in [the title race]. What's he including? He didn't mention Tottenham, and probably with what Liverpool have brought in that's the way it will be."

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp says Luka Modric sale could improve SpursSelling Luka Modric might lead to Tottenham Hotspur having a stronger team, manager Harry Redknapp has suggested. While insisting that he wanted Modric to stay — and that the club’s emphatic stance on refusing to entertain any bid from Chelsea had not changed — Redknapp admitted: “But if he is going to go, you want him to go because you can then get three or four players in."They are your options. You either sell him, get the money and bring four players in and have a better team, probably, in all honesty. Or you keep Luka, who’s a fantastic player.”Modric has made it clear – in an interview with Telegraph Sport earlier this summer and in a series of meetings with the Tottenham Hotspur hierarchy – that he wants to leave the club and join Chelsea.Interestingly, he will not feature in the first leg of tonight’s Europa League play-off away to Hearts.Redknapp said he is suffering from a groin injury, which was “not too bad” although, crucially, if Modric does play in the tie he would be ineligible for this season’s Champions League should he switch clubs.Redknapp admitted that he has sympathy with the player. “It’s difficult,” he said. “What would you do if someone offered to treble your wages? It’s hard. It’s not easy for him. I think people understand.“We all love our club and he’s got to play for Tottenham, but when someone comes along and offers to treble your wages and play for a team in the Champions League, who could win the Champions League, it’s not easy. He’s had his head turned.”Nevertheless, Redknapp warned that if Chelsea did want to pursue a deal — having had bids of £22 million and £27 million rejected — they cannot wait until the final day of the transfer window.“The chairman [Daniel Levy] won’t do that. They [Tottenham] did that with [Dimitar] Berbatov [in his transfer to Manchester United] and ended up with no strikers, so the chairman won’t do that again."We want to keep him [Modric] and bring two or three others in, and it’s looking like we might bring in a couple of players in the next few days.”One of those players looks set to be Emmanuel Adebayor, who Tottenham hope to sign on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.Manchester City want £15 million for the striker and have played down suggestions that a deal is close but Tottenham sources are confident that, if the club agrees to pay a sizeable loan fee, they can work out an agreement in which City will effectively subsidise a large chunk of Adebayor’s £160,000-a-week wages. The departure of Robbie Keane to LA Galaxy has given Tottenham some leeway. Keane was Tottenham’s highest earner on £65,000-a-week and had an agreement whereby he received a pay rise should a higher wage be offered to another player.Redknapp appeared cautiously optimistic that they would sign Adebayor. “The chairman is talking to Man City about the player but where they [the negotiations] are at, I don’t know. Listen, if he comes here and his head is 'on’ and he wants to play, then he could be fantastic,” Redknapp said. “I think it probably would be a loan deal and, with that you can’t go wrong, can you?“He was fantastic against us last season in Madrid [during the Champions League quarter-final against Real]. We couldn’t handle him and if he is 'at it’ and he comes here, then he could be sensational.”Having signed William Gallas last summer, Redknapp said he was not concerned about the reaction of the Tottenham supporters should he bring in another former Arsenal player.“He [Adebayor] fell out with Arsenal,” he said. “Arsenal fans hate him so the Tottenham fans will love him.”A third former Arsenal playeralso being pursued by Tottenham is Lassana Diarra, although it is understood that his wages – €5 million a year after tax (about £4.2 million) — at Real Madrid make it highly unlikely that they will secure the deal.Redknapp is also interested in Scott Parker but said that West Ham United have made the deal unlikely by continuing to demand £7-8 million.Former West Ham midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger has been training with Tottenham as a free agent, but is also not going to sign because he has received a bigger offer from a “top German club”.Meanwhile, Redknapp confirmed he was in Holland on Tuesday to watch FC Twente striker Bryan Ruiz but said that he was unlikely to make a bid at this stage.“He is a good player but we are more desperate in other areas,” he said. “I don’t think anything is going to happen.”
smfh, weve had 4 windows to replace berbatov and he still hasnt done it so how does he expect to replace one of the best midfielders in the prem.also how does this c*nt expect to sell one player and bring in four when we have 29 man squad at the moment including players we cant get rid of?the c*nt knows we have a wage limit, not a transfer one so how the f*ck would we pay these four players with the offloading modrics measly 70k?f*ck*ng retard.

Sat, 18 Jun 18:54:00 2011:"If we sell Luka Modric where are we going as a football club? We'll have to accept then that we're a middle-of-the-table team that will finish in the top half next season and really that's not what the chairman wants, it's not what I want. It's not, most importantly, what the fans want."August 18, 2011 "You either sell him, go out and bring three or four players in and have a better team, probably, in all honesty, or you keep him. When someone comes along and offers to treble your wages and gives you the chance to play in a team that can win the Champions League, it's not easy. He has had his head turned and it's difficult for him." :D :D :D

We need to sack him now. He is dragging our club down. He still thinks we are a relegation club. He doesn't want Champions league, Doesn't want Europe 'cause it affects our league form. Doesn't want any player from outside of England 'cause they are not proven in the prem. Still wants J.Cole, Phill Nev and other shite like Parker. We are losing all our targets 'cause Harry doesn't want them and Levy is struggling. He doesn't know how to work in the transfer market. We badly need a DOF but Harry thinks he's too good for a DOF yet this guy is a f*ck*ng nobody. Had enough man. :D :D :D
