GRIME

Recommended Posts

Pound for pound IMO when its all added up Meridian beats Nasty.

Top production

Variety of Mic skills in the crew.

Any reunion Mixtapes/Album's will be copped without hesitation.

Really?

Kano, Ghetto, Jammer, D Double, Footsie, Hyper... I'm sure they show a better variety of styles than Meridian.

All about opinions init.

Yeah remember that story being banded about.

Mc Roland lmao use to ruin sidewinder sets with his bars if you got a pc get a printer. I met him when they had sidewinder in ocean hackney spudded him. Man had one black chick walking with him and 30 goons behind him talking up to him like he is some sort of god. Is he some sort of skeng man in brummie?

Jammer wernt spitting them times tho

imo Nasty always felt like more of an all star lineup than a team with a consistent style or theme running through out. kinda like the harlem globetrotters of grime. why i was never much of a fan.

best lineup was Hyper, Sharkey, D Double, Stormin, Nasty Jack, Kano etc.

Drugged Up was right as well Stormin was alright in the beginning even tho his flow was basic

as many have said there is no best but everyones entitled to an opinion innit

Actually f*ck it I'm going all out,

I'd rate Roll deep just after Trim and Roachee joined (when Jamakabi was still about) as being better than Nasty too.

Meridian were the best for me coz their styles although different complimented each other almost perfectly, you could see/hear that they learnt of each other, productions were made in this respect and radio set flowed excellently.

C/S whoever likened Nasty to the Harlem Globetrotters of the scene, Kano and Ghetto complimented each other and later on Foots and DEE did too

lalz this sh*t

thing about meridian was they were all related right?

Skepta/JME brothers

Big H/Pres T cousins?

are Pabz and Dan related?

also which ones are originally from up north? was it just Prez or other guys as well cos they gotta be the only crew to ever repeatedly big up brum and manc over the years

was watching an interview with Pabz and some words he drops have a straight northern twang

SLK is a good shout in all honesty,

I can accept that as an arguement but for me the Nasty thing is a bit of a bandwagon/fashionable thing,

apart from Kano and DEE they didn't have any (what i'd call premier league MC's) Ghetto became one as soon as he left.

understood the love for Sharkey but never bought into it myself,

Stormin was just stormin,

NJ brought it back to life for a while but not really if you think about it.

Armour there were better exponents of the style,

Hyper was a decent Mc

I liked Monkey but i dunno

Footsie has only become premier league in the last few years imo

a Nasty set with Stormin Hyper and Footsie is a dead set IMO, they needed DEE or Kano to add a little something.

Roll deep used to do sets on god knows how many stations in a week, and had a different line up each time Wiley and Flowdan being the constants, and every set was quality. Nasty couldn't do that so i'm not sure why people tend to rate Nasty ahead of Roll deep,

SLK had something special and they slipped my mind, they had more of a variety of styles than Meridian,

Ruff Squad had by far the most talent imo never really liked their sets though.

on the subject of Crews who complimented each other, Musical Mob

Meridian, Roll deep, SLK. Top 3 selected,

Nasty, Boys in the hood, Roadside next 3

Slew Dem, Ruff squad, Cold Blooded next 3.

Wiley, Flowdan, Jamakabi, Riko, Trim, Roachee, Breeze, Scratchy, damm near perfect set imo.

plus the other ones that came to life as soon as a mixtape or album was being produced,

pick any 8 from SLK

H, Prez T, JME, Bossman, Dan, as far as a 5 man set goes....... add on Frisco Danny B and CELL22.............
