I was watching old season reviews and youtube clips and Owen in his day was sick! What’s your views on how his career has panned out??Has he turned into the player you thought he’d be?Do you ever think he will ever score 15+ in the league again or have the inj taken its toll?He has gone backwards in his career since leaving Madrid, he made the wrong choice going to Newcastle..Should he have stayed at Anfield? He was sick so sick in his early years but has been stale for a couple yearsFailed to light up any tournaments since France 98…This season is a big 1 for him with Austria 08 coming (if we qualify), can he ever get back to those glory days, coz I watched him for 45mins in a abysmal Newcastle performance 2day and he looked a shadow of his former self. Plus he turns 28 next month, so hes reachin his peak yrs supposedly2000–01 League Cup2000–01 FA Cup2000–01 UEFA Cup2001–02 European Super Cup2001–02 Charity Shield2002–03 League Cup----------------------------------------1998 PFA Young Player of the Year1998 Premier League Joint Topscorer, 18 Goals1999 Premier League Joint Topscorer, 18 Goals2001 European Footballer of the YearAll time top scorer in Europe for Liverpool, 22 goalsLiverpool: 158 goalsReal Madrid: 19 goalsNewcastle: 10 goalsEngland: 40 goals (4th all time scorer 9 behind Bobby Charlton)

He was great a liverpool. His injury prone-ness is absolutely pathetic now, I saw him sprint for a ball...and just fall over and have to go off..f*cking hell man.He needs to get fit, and come to Utd, he'd be great for us, I do think he is very ovverated, and due to injurys and bad career decisions, he hasnt lived up to his potential, though he still has a lot of time to do so, hes...26 right?Something English players need to learn...i've ben saying it for ages...DO NOT JOIN REAL MADRID.

Memba it like it was yesterdayLiverpool needed 2 win to stay in the race 4 the titleThey were losing 2-0 i thinkOwen came on, I think Ince slid him through left side of the area and he cooly slotted it past Neil Sulivan...
wearing a top that was at least 4 sizes too big for him lolOwen is a sick guy from long time. not the same style of player he once was but is still certain to weigh in with a good amount of goals.I hope he gets some success in his career at club level, which means he's gotta leave Newcastle asap.

Owen had the potential to be the greatest English striker ever by a long distance. In his younger days he was terrifying. Unfortunately injuries robbed him of his pace & touch, as well as several seasons of peak performance.... maybe it's because he played too much at too young an age, and it strained his body, and the damage has caught up to him. Or maybe he's just unlucky and naturally injury-prone. He is still a great striker because he is a sick finisher, I have always said this. Finishing isn't a question of athleticism so much, it's about having a striker's mind, positional sense and instincts. These will never leave a top striker - even as they reach and progress into their 30s (in fact they often get better with experience). Owen will always score goals when fit, even if he's slower than he used to be. He's scored goals everywhere he's gone in his career, and even if he's not burning guys for pace no more, he will still hit the net when he hits form. I don't think 15+ goals is beyond his capabilities, even at this stage.
