im 23, didnt go uni, didnt know what i wanted to do there, didnt just want to go and do any random course like a bunch of people i know.after gcse's i did a year business course which i passed. i went to a basketball acadamy for 2 years and got a national diploma in sports studies. basketball coaching award, 1st aid awards, personal training awards, referee awards and a couple other things that i could use in a job in that field or use it to go uni after that course. other things came up and was going well for me (some music stuff) and it got to take me to other countries and places where i wouldn never been before, so i decided to work odd jobs (offices, shops etc) use the money to finance somethign i wanted to do. right now im not exactly where i want to be, but i have money aside. (no way near enough) but i have many options into many things i could reach out into. and right now i am working on 2/3 things at once which will take a little time, btu i have the options there, which i have made myself, and i also have oppertunites being brought to me now but the work i have put in. its not all about uni, its not made for some people. im one of those. i have sat there before and thought, should i have went to uni, (this was after 5 of ym boys graduated this year) and i was thinkin, damn they seem so happy etc etc. but 3 of them have degrees in things they are not going to use/get jobs in/or wanted to do, the other 2 are struggling finding jobs in those fields. and are worse off them me right now, who didnt go uni and been working, not saying they always will be, but right now they are just working normal jobs they didnt need to go uni for. you obviously havent gone uni for a reason, u should find out what that reason is, work out what u want. can u get it alone. and if you can get it now, go get it. really. anything u want in this world u can have. u can get anything you want. just put the time in, make the plan and move to it.

you dont 'have' to go to uni, but if you havent got any certain plans while your not a uni then you could end up quite lost.
i know i dont have to go to uni . For my chosen desired career, im sure i could work my way up to management on training courses the airline company will send you on and what not but i think some extra qualifications, ie , a travel management qualification would do me good.that was kinda me a while back, i felt so lost about all this , i was at a point where i didn't think any rescue team in the land could save me but im sure il work my head around this.

u definatly can work ur way around it, can work u way around anything that is brought to you, some things just seem to take a long time and u feel like ur not getting anywhere.
ye i know what you mean about things taking a long time and feeling like your going round and round in circles.

I think i should've gone 2 uni, only because my plans aren't exactly going as expected. when i was ur age all of a sudden all my mates from school f*cked off 2 uni and most of my mates from my area went to work abroad, and i was left virtually by myself. Ur best bet is to get a hobby, something constructive that u love doing and if one day u think u can make a career of that then see if u can go back to colloege/uni, there's no age limit on education and sh*t, ur 19!!!! U got the rest of ur life to live yet!

Yeah im same as you in an office job im 21. i dont regret not going to uni because i have never been sure about what i want to do with the rest of my life. i wanna try different things not just follow the same path. i prefer work because you can go in, you know what your doing, go home at night not woory about coursework or exams and enjoy your wages at the weekends. im cool with that!

You should go back to college, don't worry what people think. You'll look back on it and regret it otherwise...
TRUSS ME!!Lulu, if you're considering it, JUST DO IT. Procrastination is the biggest killer trust me, if you wanna go then do it ASAP.I'm in my final year, I'm glad I went the time I did, although it feels long because really and truly there are other ways of making it. However if I did end up with a dead-end job to begin with, at least I can say I have a uni degree to fall back on.
