Fee is excessive, and shows your desperate and couldn't afford to play the waiting game, Di Maria and his agent have to milk you lot on the waes, they have too its a must!

Woodward is pretty shit right?

All that said GREAT player, who will have fun in the Prem, lol.

Just you stay creating problems for yourself with the personnel.

Whoever said Herrera is dead should slap themselves.

What would you value him at?

Wouldn't have paid a penny over 42.5m, his situation imo was the same as Ozil's last year, infact same as it was last year and he was valued less than Ozil then, yes he had a great year but he was up for sale and they paid about 25m for him, given them good service and would be making a profit on a player they didnt want no more.

Clubs had to play a waiting game as the days reduce until the 1st September and hope PSG didnt come back to the table, its PSG that pushed his price up in the first place, cos they got more money then sense.

Juan Mata may find himself edged out of the Manchester United team as quickly as he is erased from the club’s record books following the signing of Angel di Maria.

And Mata, with an impressive seven goals in 17 appearances for United since his arrival from Stamford Bridge, is understood to be the most vulnerable of Old Trafford’s leading players.

With Van Gaal expected to revert to his favoured 4-3-3 formation and abandon United’s current 3-4-1-2 set-up once he is able to work with a fully fit and improved squad, Mata’s lack of pace is set to leave him battling for a place in the manager’s first-choice XI.

In the 3-4-1-2 system, Mata’s position behind the front two enables the Spaniard to play between the midfield and attacking lines, acting as a link between the midfielders and forwards.

During United’s pre-season tour of the United States, Mata was regularly selected ahead of Shinji Kagawa by Van Gaal and the 26-year-old’s performances in the States hinted at a blossoming partnership with Rooney.

But the arrival of Di Maria changes everything for Mata who, despite his goal return at United, has yet to make a decisive contribution in a critical game for the team.

Mata’s seven goals have come against Aston Villa, Newcastle, Norwich City, Southampton and Sunderland, yet in pivotal fixtures against Liverpool, Manchester City and Everton last season, his contribution was minimal, with superior opponents nullifying his capabilities.

While Mata is key in a 4-3-1-2 formation, he becomes redundant in a 4-3-3 system which relies on pace in wide areas to be truly effective.

With Di Maria likely to play on the right of a front three, including Robin van Persie through the middle and Adnan Januzaj on the left, Wayne Rooney would most likely occupy an advanced midfield role, deployed just behind Van Persie.

Di Maria’s pace would enable him to replicate the devastating counter-attacks displayed by Arjen Robben for Holland during the World Cup, with Januzaj offering a similar outlet on the left.

Rooney, whose own lack of significant pace has blunted his edge as a centre-forward, would then edge out Mata due to his goalscoring pedigree, vision in the final third and ability to withstand the physical side of the English game.

Mata’s problem is that he becomes a square peg in a round hole in a 4-3-3 system, with his lack of pace slowing United down in a similar fashion to Dimitar Berbatov, whose own reign as the club’s record signing was ultimately a hugely disappointing one.

Ashley Young and Danny Welbeck are also likely to find their prospect affected by the signing of Di Maria, but it is Mata is who set to be the most high-profile victim.

Did anyone see that young United fan being interviewed on SSN?

Reporter asked him "who is he looking forward to seeing tonight?"

Kid said "Januzaj because he's got lots of skills"

Reporter didn't get the answer he was looking for so then he says "is there anyone else you want to see, what about Wayne Rooney?"

Kid shook his head and "said ummm...Kagawa"

On further review of the interview, reporter asked if there was anyone else

As the kid is thinking of an answer the reporter then says "you was hoping to see Rooney but he's not gonna be here is he"

Kid shook is head at the idea of hoping to see 3HUNNA and said Kagawa

Salt levels are high in MC Flojo and MC Lahi's B2B set

But imagine finishing 2nd and seeing clubs that finished below you buying Sanchez and Di Maria while you settled for LMArkOvic

lool how can you be talking smack about Markovic, he cost like £5 million more than Zaha and you can't even temporarily give him away.

We'll see at the end of the season if the £40 million difference in transfer fee between our Lazar and Di Maria was worth it.

damn [funk flex voice]

herrera is basic... pass sidewards or backwards player. same thing they cussed Allen or Henderson for pmsl

after they thought they could do what Pellegrini does (playing 2 cm's) during the moyes era with that shit shit version of Toure, Fellaini

Utd are so behind in their football its a joke.

post from another manc

'Watching both teams last night, it's painfully obvious at how far United are behind. Not necessarily in quality of players, but quality of play. The movement, and the willingness of possession from all players on both teams is just completely what United are lacking.

The confidence of Liverpool's front players is outstanding, and that has got to be down to Rodger's influence. I hope he doesn't have the same effect on Balotelli that he has had on Sturridge, otherwise they have a world class match winner on their hands. An on-form Balotelli could have changed the game for Liverpool last night.

United fans may not want to admit it, but Liverpool matched City blow for blow last night up until Jovetic's first goal. City then slowed down the tempo and took control, which I think Liverpool would have done if they had got the first.

It's mainly the consistency which may be an issue with Liverpool this season, which wasn't last season. Fair play to the players and Rodgers, last season they maintained a very high level of performance for the majority of the season, but that is so difficult to do.

What City and Chelsea have, which I'm not sure Liverpool do, now that Suarez is gone, are players that can win games, even when the team are not playing particularly well. It's how we won the league 2 years ago with RVP, and I think it will eventually be Liverpool's down-fall this season.

Time will tell, however it is going to take a time and a lot of hard work for United to begin playing anywhere near the same level of football as both teams last night.'
