I did the math, there is NO NUMBER between one and ten where this formula would give you the answer 6. My head was spinning.

this video is about ignorance not intelligence, and yes, americans are more ignorant generally than british about international stuff because of the of the differences in continental setup.
Please expand on this, and provide some solid evidence for your assertions. I'm very interested.Thanks.
ive spent time in both countries so its from my own experience, and pretty much anyone else i know or like in this video shows its a common observation. so solid evidence cant be anything statistical etc, but common experiences tell a good story. spent a year in Cali 2 yrs ago, and this was just as evident as i had already known from living in the south/visiting family (which is THE slowest part of the US)first: they dont travel as much so are not exposed to international culture, and this doesnt have anything to do with social status etc its just an american insular culture. The video is questioning americans understanding of the international world, from my stay in California which is supposed to me one of the more enlightened parts of the country and the Uni i was at, simple things such as pronouncing a german or zambian student's name right, or things that american students would say and i look round the class and see the chinese, indian guy c/s in shock, having discussions with professors and still seeing such an intellectual man/woman be quite unaware of simple things outside of the US. a woman was once so shocked i guessed she was east european and even further surprised i narrowed it down to being croatian, czech or polish. the level of TV documentaries that could expose Americans to everyday life outside the US are not shown on the most watched channels but rather on channels like PBS, or National Geographic/ History channel. while you have all 5 main channels showing such in the UK and when things are shown like that on CBS or ABC and other main channels, its all summarised into 10-15mins OR its covered in a comical context, like david letterman, jay leno.People like Bill o'reilly could not exist in the UK on the level he is in the US. FOX is the most watched newschannel, and yes there is the SUN and co over here, but there is balance on TV, radio and other forms. CNN, MSNBC, are not much better. i would have a discussion with a guy from europe or india and we would mention world events or things that our american peers would feel left out. its like asking how one knows that racism exists...you cant quantify it per se
