Wenger: Nasri transfer to Arsenal?Arsène Wenger, Arsenal coach, said in Téléfoot on TF1 that the transfer of Samir Nasri of Marseille to Arsenal were "likely to be done.""It is likely to be, if it happens, it will be before the start of the Euro (June 7-29)," explained the technician Gunners. The officer Samir Nasri had said Wednesday afternoon to AFP that there was "no agreement finalized" on the player's transfer to English club Arsenal."There is no agreement finalized, we are studying is true, a proposition from Arsenal who are interested sportingly Samir Nasri is also true, but other offerings are parking on my desk" had explained Jean-Pierre Bernès, without specifying where these came from other proposals.Since Clairefontaine, Franck Ribéry asked Friday to Samir Nasri "to become a patron Vieira as" if the player's transfer from Marseille to finalise Arsenal, Patrick Vieira became an emblematic leader, before leaving for Inter Milan. That was translated.

Don't see why young English players bother signing for Arsenal tbh. There's more chance of you making it with Bradford then Arsenal.Shame really, there's a few English players in the reserves that i've been really impressed with.
We haven't signed anyone.
Pillock.
Piss off.
Has a very god point TBH.This is a f*ck*ng English club with a world class youth setup and were constantly buying youngsters from abroad.
smh
SMH what? The chie of Bentley still rings in my ears, imagine him instead of Eboue out of pos on the right.h he aint no superstar but in a couple seasons...

Yeah I'll be surprised if it was announced today. Wenger has said it's likely to happen so if anything we will hear news tomorrow.Arsene Wenger's new Arsenal team will begin to take shape this week with the signing of Samir Nasri from Marseille and negotiations to take St Etienne midfielders Mouhamadou Dabo and Blaise Matuidi to London.Stuttgart striker Mario Gomez is being lined up should Emmanuel Adebayor continue to demand £80,000 a week and the arrival of 20-year-old Nasri will pave the way for Alexander Hleb to leave.Nasirarticle-0-015CFF4400000578-961_468x286.jpgPast and present: Arsenal target Samir Nasri (L) stands next to former Gunners striker Nicolas Anelka during training as the French team prepares for Euro 2008Arsenal, who have already lost Mathieu Flamini to AC Milan, hope to conclude their major transfers by the start of Euro 2008 next month but still have to agree a fee with Marseille for Nasri, who can play on the left or the right as an attacking midfielder or as a central striker. The French club are thought to be holding out for £13million while Arsenal are likely to pay around £9m with extra if he achieves his potential. With Hleb determined to leave, despite having two years left on his contract, the club will wait for a suitable offer from Inter Milan, although they will resist letting him go for less than £16m. for Wenger to say on French TV, thats there a good chance. To me thats a done deal, which is only being held up by a technicality. Some say Pjanic (which is now completed) & Arfa's moves have been the delay in why none of the other clubs agreeing to fees to then release their players. Not sure how true this is but I heard Ben Arfa wants to stay in France. Think our attempt for Ben Arfa has been derailed by trying to tie up Nasri first.

Pjanic signed for Lyon
I know but...Its obvious the chain is Lyon want Pjanic to replace Ben Arfa, Marseille want Ben Arfa to replace Nasri and Arsenal want Nasri to replace Hleb.If Arsenal was smart, they would have signed Ben Arfa first, then if the Nasri clause is true just invoked that, then sell Hleb if the P was too tight after that...

It is. They just did the double and are in the Champions League every year. But Ben Arfa aint in the Lyon team at the minute, despite being French young player of the year, and he isnt the most patient or humble of players to accept sitting on the bench for months.

Good player but effectively another Hleb, doesnt score, just dribble, dribble, dribble... and inconsistent, IMO he needs to leave France and play with better players, Arsenal would be a good place for him altho the problem there is any young French player who does a few tricks in his first season becomes the "new Zidane" and their price tag becomes very inflated...

Maybe in France and French footballing history but from the outside looking in over the last 5 years, Lyon are the bigger club and win the trophies and play regular CL football.Marsielle aint been hot in European football since Bernard Tapie and we all know how that goes... When they last even win a trophy in France?
