Not Number 1 material.Our defence was impregnable untill the African nations and was on on par with man utds, Senderos slotted nicely with Gallas during kolo's departure but when and injured shadow of early season Toure took CB that's when we flopped ourselves. Senderos doesn't fill me with optimism The beginning of the season showed there's still hope that we can have a good defence if a commanding CB isn't bought. Need another centreback.Flamini is gone and so is Diarra, we have Gilberto but is he staying?, going olympics? We should've loaned Diarra, he showed how sick he was in the fa cup final and had he stayed Flamini going wouldn't have been so detrimental.Hleb is looking to leave, but we have Nasri. Rosicky cannot be trusted to stay fit for a period of time we have no hope if we only have Walcott, Vela and Eboue to count on throughout next season.In all, we had no strength in depth and bringing new players to replace losing Diarra, Flamini, Hleb will only again mask our problems again untill we get fixture pile-ups or injuries. But everyone seems to carry on like we need to spend MILLIONS and get a good 4 or 5 players to compete.My point was, and still is, this:We was 4 points off top, 2 off 2nd.Quarter Finals of the Champions League (Game could have gone either way)Thin when the injuries hit our whole left side (bar Clichy).I personally feel Diaby, Denilson, Gilberto and one signing in midfield with a fully fit team and we'll be fine.Everyone else seems to think this is Football Manager 2008. So lets live in La La Land for a while.Instead of ruining every topic with how poor our squad is, do it in here and state what, where, and WHO you want to see in.
