From Mickey Kane III who is currently in the Big Brother house.First of all it's a damn good album. Nah, f*ck it, it's a GREAT album. People are too ready to judge it off a few half-assed listens. That's what this download era does to you. Instead, I've really been listening to it all week, playing it at work, just really appreciating the album and it's just an ill album. I've decided I'm gonna buy it too at this point. But honestly, this just feels like one of those CLASSIC WEEKS and that's the main reason for me. Quality is the most important, but the FEELING that comes along with an album's release is what really sets it apart for me. Think about the week GRODT or Black Album or Late Registration dropped. EVERYBODY had a copy. Everybody was listening. Everybody was talking about it. C3 has a 20 something page thread here. I see pages in their HUNDREDS on other forums. The sh1t is selling out everywhere. You go outside and you WILL hear it coming from somebody's system. It just feels like one of those moments in music accompanied by a great album.I'm not gonna call it a classic in an Illmatic sense. But does it have to be? Don't front like as a fan of hip-hop music you won't look back and remember when C3 dropped. And you don't have to think the album is amazing, but if you're a fan of hip-hop and you don't dig this album somewhat, you're kidding yourself.Mickey Kane to win Vip2 BB(NO SEND-OUT YOUT)

Poor boy sounds overwhelmed by the whole occasion. Think thats blurring his vision tbh, he wants to believe that it is something monumental to match the hype surrounding the release. Once the smoke clears he'll realise it's not classic by any means. It's just a good/listenable album. The levels of HH are so low now, that being listenable front-to-back (altho I skip three tracks upon hearing the first note. I'll memorise their positions and it'll be skipped before it gets the chance to drop if I get into the album) gets it these massive props. Tell him to go listen to some real, not even old, but recent classics such as Scarface's 'The Fix' or Common's 'Be' and he'll realise its not that. Even listen to GRODT or 'The Documentary. Could have been but isnt.

NEW YORK (AP) — The excessive leaks and bootlegging of Lil Wayne's new album haven't prevented it from being a hot seller: The rapper's "Tha Carter III" sold 423,000 copies in its first day of release, according to Billboard magazine, citing figures from Nielsen SoundScan.

To clarify the bit I disagree with is the GREAT album bit, but thats opinon. Deffo landmark occasion in HH history on GRODT levels easily. As I've always stated most prob the closest. Wayne's covered the mandem and gyaldem, both yute and mature. By far the biggest HH Pop star thats not tryna make some funky stuff like Kanye. He's got the Ja Rule/Nelly appeal that I once said was missing from the game but he's got the co-sign from the mandem for mic skills. Infact, it was a major thing Ja and Nelly missed out on.You see man on telly and he's very, very likeable. Hear him on the mic and, again he's very likeable. Not arrogant or likely to turn people off like 50 'cause of his stink attitude, even though 50 is still very likeable when he wants to be.

Despite a recent leak of his latest album, Cash Money Records rapper Lil Wayne is expected to sell one million copies of Tha Carter III. Billboard reports that the Cash Money/Universal release could reach the milestone by the time SoundScan closes out its tracking week on Sunday (June 15) night. The last album to sell one million copies in a week was G-Unit frontman 50 Cent’s sophomore project The Massacre, which sold 1.1 million units upon its March 2005 release. On Thursday (June 12), Tha Carter III boasted unweighted sales at 630,000, the largest number the SoundScan Friday Building chart has seen since it began in September. Rapper Kanye West produced a similar result when his album, Graduation, moved 600,000 copies the Friday of its release. The Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam album ended up selling 957,000 units in its first full week on store shelves. News of Tha Carter III reaching the one million mark comes as Lil Wayne enjoys the success of his number one single "Lollipop" and follow-ups "A Milli" and "Got Money." Although the album is proving to be a success, its status was doubtful after Lil Wayne angered mixtape DJs when he spoke out against them during a recent interview with The Foundation Magazine. Offended by the rapper's remarks, DJ Chuck T intentionally leaked the album and encouraged fans to download the album for free instead of buying it in stores. Lil Wayne and Universal declined to pursue the matter regarding Chuck T’s leaking the album and the rapper later clarified his remarks and apologized to the DJs during an appearance on DJ Drama’s Shade 45 Sirius satellite radio show.
I aint gonna lie. Thought the album will do gold first week at best.. Never thought a rap album could see those numbers in this day & age. With havy downloading as well..I wil liek to see how the second week does. Its a good look for him tho.. The hype was engineered properly

good look for weezy.he delivered a very good album and has been probably the hardest working rapper over the past year or so, imo he deserves these type of sales.2nd week is when it really counts though.
When what really counts?Anyway, this will be merged in a bit

Boy, if I hit a millie out the gate I'm fully expecting a 70% drop. Whats gonna make people buy it the second week, word of mouth reccomendation only imo. The importance of 2nd week sales are over-rated, espesh if your licking amazing number first week. You cant expect anything less than 60% drop unless you dillusional
