As his Bundesliga side undergo pre-season training in the Austrian mountains, the veteran midfielder was spotted in a mystery pair of blacked-out of adidas boots!

Adidas have set the rumour-mill into over-drive, knowing that equipping such a high profile athlete with an unreleased boot would create a huge buzz! The long-serving adidas midfielder has be called upon once more for product testing, as the early prototypes of these new boots begin their long road to release!

Despite being a career-long adidas Predator wearer, Ballack has been the fortunate beneficiary of an all new boot silo! Forget about these being the next adiZero or Predator incarnation. After years of suggestion, adidas look to have finally lined up a 'control' boot to directly rival the Nike CTR360!

With a visible control zone on the instep and textured areas across the front of the boot, all signs point to a new adidas 'control' shoe. In the brands mission to reduce weight across all silos, they have taken the unique step of creating a control boot with a synthetic upper. Look closely, and you can even see a potential mi-coach inclusion on the sole!

According to Oliver Brüggen (a member of adidas' PR team) the model will hit the market in May 2012 – prior to the Euro 2012 tournament! Have your say on what you think these mystery adidas boots could be!
