Watched Body of Lies todayPretty decent, the actors were on point (Russell Crowe being worthy of mention), the cinematography was saying alot The plot was somewhat convoluted in parts but I'd recommend a watch
Russell Crowe was solid, but I didn't think he stood out at all. It was a fundamentally thin supporting role, most of the time he was just talking on the phone (his interplay with DiCaprio was great though). DiCaprio and Mark Strong had the most potent characters, both did a great job.Very nice thriller overall. Ridley Scott's game is sharp, as ever.

I think I've said it in this topic before. But I think The Happening is worth seeing, just to gasp in amazement at how sh*t it is. There are films which are bad, and then there are films which are sh*t, and then there are films which are horrendously, offensively sh*t. And then there is The Happening. It's a spectacle. It's a unique artifact of gargantuan shittiness. Its shittiness is something to behold in wonderment.

I could've swore There Will Be Blood was last year. Epic film all the same. And I was looking through the list, making mental notes of good films to check out... when I saw that they'd rated Indiana Jones as 4/5, which causes me to lose all faith in The Times' critical judgment. Alas, I must find another year-end roundup to locate gems from 2008 which I've missed.4 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days was amazing. Powerfully heavy. Saw it in West End wih a girl - the plan was to check the film and then go out on the town. After the film, we sat in a nearby cafe for 20 minutes. In silence. Then went home. :D My ten picks of this year, in no order:Dark KnightMan On Wire4 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 DaysWall-EKung-Fu PandaThe WacknessIn BrugesTrouble the WaterW.PersepolisIron ManYeah I know that's 11. f*ck you all.
