You can't define these anymore. What constitutes middle class?Being educated? Having money? Having manners? Being morally sound?Im educated, I don't have a LOT of money, I have to work for it like everyone else.Manners - yesMorals - iffy sometimes but yesNow what separates me from the middle class? Money?I can tell you many Bob the builders who have made their money from plumbing or property or other avenues and who cant string a sentence together, go down the pub every night to get smashed, have no (in my opinion) culture, and are just unreserved scum. But they have money? You cant define working and middle anymore, they've become too blurred. Socio-economic and social are intertwined. Some people have both, some have one or the other, some have neither. If I had to categorise myself, I'd say a bastardization of the two. But even thats stretching it.Signed, Another essay from M.Dictated but not read.Peace.
There's two.Working and Upper.Everyone here is working./THREAD.

Well whether or not its snobbery I dunno, but I don't see myself on the same class level as Jade Goody.Or bob the builder.Class distinctions are outdated and irrelevant.Working ESPECIALLYUpper is the only intact one, because you pretty much have to be aristocracy in order to have that status. Movement within aristocracy is almost non existant, and movement into it is almost impossible. So it remains relevant.

The lines between working class and middle class are blurred now, tbh this country is mostly 1 big middle class society, its just the class itself still has ranking within it.The only people I can describe as working class are those living on the breadline or below it.Upper class isn't really even about money anymore its more about bloodline.
i duno i think u can be Upper Class, some asian family who used to live near us have a big chain of takeaways aorund london and do catering, and they are fresh off the boat and now there kids are privately educated and have a farm of a house and a fleet of cars somewhere near chealseamy dad is there accountant still
That doesnt make them upper class, that makes them wealthy.David Beckham has 100 mill in the bank, has a large real estate portfolio and educates his children privately. Why? Because he has the money to do so. New money people are not upper class.Upper class coincides with old money, aristocracy and status. From time Kate Middleton is not seen as upper class, I find it hard for a lot ot people to be.

It's not though.Well at least I didnt think class was based on earnings.Coz if so I'm working.Where do you draw the line at wage brackets in that case?Does some drug dealer who pulls in more in a day then I do in a month count as middle class?I've got a poor mans private (selective school) education, and am in the top 1% of the country in that sense. But because he has more money he qualifies as middle class?I think its more than just wages...
