I agree, except I have two brothers so the name can live on through them, as well. Kinship is very important to me and I'm proud of my family, so I'm keeping my name, although I'm happy to have a double-barrel name. I would also like our children to have double barrels, although they can be known only by the father's name.

I was think about this the other day. I always thought I'd go for the double-barrel surname, but now I think I'd rather rid myself of my dad's surname all together and take my husband's.I'm not sure. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Unfortunately, we'll just have to wait and see. I don't know what the father will be like yet. But I hope it won't be a problem.

Look fam, I'm not talking about any & everyday one off naggings like wash up or put the toilet seat down after use. In my experiences, when a female hits certain ages & REALLY wants something i.e marriage. She will drop hints, tell you bareface, give you time limit, tell you about so & so who just got married etc
