carpedeum
U man need to wach the Movie/Docmnetary 'Sicko'..U will never wish of going to america ever againset your goals higher. the main points raised here about not emigrating to another country is how the disadvantaged there suffer. thats not saying that its not something of concern..but im sure one doesnt plan to be poor. as much as sicko shows the bad side of US medical care.. the UK is in many ways just as bad. how many people die of cancer and other preventable ilnesses here bcos of the waiting list on the NHS? my friend was telling me how his dad's GP told him he was fine last christmas and asked hi to take paracetamol for his chest pain. as it happened the man also had private insurance and was due for a checkup in 1 week.. when he went for the checkup he was sent to hospital for further tests with a consultant... within a few hrs it was discovered he had a serious heart condition and ended up having a QUADriple bypass surgery.. he was told had he not come he wld have had a stroke or dead within 2 weeks. but the good ol' NHS said he was fine. God knows how many like him who didnt have private health care have dropped dead.i had my tooth done within a day on private..my friend with the same problem has been waiting 8 months to be called up by the hospital to go for his. bout sicko

Science + art IMOLol, terrible way to justify the misuse of your qualifications.Unless you're not doing it for the money, which is highly unlikely. :PI sense sarcasmI've always found it so interestingIf I could specify in reconstructive work, I would in a heart beat

They're getting paid mega bucks regardless. In the overwhelming majority of operations, consultations, and care, private does not equate to better.Alot of the best doctors are NHS. They're getting paid mega bucks regardless. In the overwhelming majority of operations, consultations, and care, private does not equate to better.Alot of the best doctors are NHS.they get paid mega bucks bcos they do a job..thru the mega bucks they get paid they have better equipment and ability to research, they work less hours, and are able to spend more time with patients than doctors on the NHS. alot of the best doctors are concultants who also work with private health. its only just picking up in the UK anyway due to the failure of the NHS. i ask you to go to your GP and tell him or her you want to have a medical check up.. and tell me what reply you get. u cant compare the NHS to private.. its not only jus cos its the NHS its maybe the way its funded.. but most other OECD countries have far better healthcare systems then the UK, same goes for the US.. the downside with america being its totally private. bladerunner
How is the "quality of life" crap?In England, unlike many other EU countries, you're free to do pretty much as you please within the confines of the law.
Em Dott
I love London, but like someone said, I would like to wake up with sun pretty much every morning. And just because you can exist in London with virtually nothing doesn't mean it is a good life or easy. From what I have seen from family and others is that London can be a very depressing place if you aren't earning a sizable amount. And that's why people move. The money they make here that won't take them too far will build them a sick house and give them a comfortable life somewhere else though it's generally in teh third world but if that is what makes them happy then so be it.I want to make somthing comfortable over here and then retire in a hot country. Jamaica or somewhere in the West Indies seems the most likely due to them speaking English, but Ghana is a possiblity if I decide to try and learn one of the languages, and with the wealth of relatives I have over there life could be alright.
