He is so disloyal he left us to join the club that threw him away because they didn't think he was good enough.I would be lying if I wished him well. Couldn't give a sh*t about what he does in Madrid. All I'm saying is we won't sign him when they sign the worlds greatest left back next season and they sell you to Racing Santander.I'm against Spanish imports now.Lee Cattermole will be a better signing than Javi Martinez or Aquilani because he won't f*ck us over for Ac Milan or Madrid in the future.f*ck yellow and f*ck*ng redEnglish/Scandinavian/German/Scottish/Irish ftw

Xabi Alonso & The TruthWe always do our best to give a balanced view of the facts on the site and strive to convey the complexities of any situation. We also go out of our way to stress that nothing in football is definitive, that circumstances are always likely to change and that just because a deal appears likely to go ahead on one day, it does not mean that it necessarily will.Unfortunately, it turns out that not every website seeking to make an impression upon the ever expanding and developing space called the internet follows the same principles that I or my fellow professional journalists have a moral obligation to adhere to.As a consequence I find that I must regrettably point out that the website Sport.co.uk has been doing very well out of taking information and copy from this site and misrepresenting it in order to drive traffic to their own.In recent weeks, Sport.co.uk has invented statements and falsified quotes that they have attributed to me. I take no pleasure in having to respond to this, nor in having to name that website, but feel I must do so as their frequent deliberate fabrication of comments from me is damaging to reputations, not to mention a waste of our time as we find ourselves engaging with comments on this site in response to things that people have read elsewhere and that do not reflect my opinion.Sport.co.uk: While it is undoubtedly a form of flattery that you feel you must take every single transfer story from this site and reproduce it on your own, I respectfully ask that you do not persist in inventing comments and quotes and attributing them to me. Sport.co.uk currently has a story on their site under a headline that includes a quotation – Balague: “Alonso will be a Liverpool player next season.” I have never said or written the above as a statement of my own personal opinion - and by placing it in quotation marks represents a deliberate distortion of an article previously published here. One of the primary motives for having a personal website is that it gives me an opportunity to share information and my own personal opinion first hand: in other words, if you want to know what I think or what I have heard, then you know that GuillemBalague.Com is the place to come. With regard to Xabi Alonso, we did report the other day that there was a more optimistic mood within the Liverpool camp that Alonso would be staying and that a source at the club had said that “there is more chance of Xabi staying at Liverpool than there is of him going.”However, over the last 24 hours, events have moved quickly and it now appears that Real Madrid are edging closer to meeting Liverpool`s demands. This follows the news that Rafa Benitez has set Xabi a two day deadline on the deal, which effectively signaled to Madrid that they either pay €30 million ASAP – or end their interest for good. Understandably, Benitez wants the matter sorted as quickly as possible if he is going to have to replace Alonso. However, despite the fact that numerous press reports are claiming that a deal could be tied up as quickly as the end of today – a word of caution: Florentino Perez will resent being seen to respond to an ultimatum and Madrid may still drag their heels. The Spanish club are also trying to offload players to free up salary and squad space, and it is possible that may still delay matters. There are still a lot of people involved in this deal who will not want to lose face or to walk away with their reputation tarnished and human nature dictates that an element of stubbornness by any party could still lead to complications. It would appear that Liverpool are prepared to lower their asking price, the player is ready to go and Real Madrid are on the verge of making an improved offer – so at first glance the transfer of Xabi Alonso looks set to go ahead. However, while there are widespread media reports claiming that the transfer of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid is a foregone conclusion and that it will happen within 24 hours, I would say that, at this exact moment in time, there is still a way to go before a deal is finalised and until the deal is complete, nothing can be taken for granted. As a close source to the whole deal told me this morning: “Nobody knows if it will happen or when it will happen”… http://www.guillembalague.com/rumores_desp...;%20The%20Truth

lol@the Arbeloa hate talking about Madrid didn't want him when Liverpool baitly went out and spent 18million pounds on an RB who wasn't much better. What message does that send to Arbeloa? 'You are an important part of our first team plans?' I'm sure for him and his family he'd rather sit on the bench in Spain than in Liverpool which is a shithole.

Good point but you can only expect most football fans to think about this after the dust has settled especially when their team is involved and they dont appear to have strenghtnedan our looking at possibly losing their first choice CM pairingNot even sending

I never disputed this at all.but that was never the argument and you'd be crazy to say that if Mach and/or Alonso left you'd be in as strong position
