Had enough of my whip, needs more fixes than a f*ck*ng junkie.

Car mechs, I'm looking at 05 Merc c220/c200 coupe, about 7 bags to spend, what should I look out for when buying it?

Bro. forget the Mercs

I had one last year.

I had the C180 on a 54 plate. the petrol was a damn joke.

35miles for ten quid.

SERVICING cost me 250 just for a damn Service B the Service A will cost double/triple that

Parts are just a ripoff twice as expensive as honda/vw/audi

You're buying the badge for the price you can a nicer, cheaper to run faster car.

For 7 bags

what's your specs on it.

Tbh if you cant afford a brand new merc then you shouldn't get a merc at all

because the parts/services/fuel comsumption etc etc are priced for people who can afford brand new 1s

Hol on it's the people who are clever WHO WONT be buying a brand new merc.

every smart person knows the price drops ALOT the second it leaves the dealership.

f*ck buying brand new.

I'd happily save 4grand whilst you buy "brand new"

I can afford to buy a brand new merc but i'd never buy one. second hand>>>>

:/

Maybe went abit too far there but if you want to take pride in your car getting it serviced by merc and having no expense spared it's going to hurt you unless you have a very decent income..

My old college lecturer used to work for merc and he said the charges he'd have to give people for the simplest jobs were ridiculous

the petrol thing aint really a problem tbh, but i see what your saying with servicing, im looking to get one that comes with warranty of some sort, f*ck private sellers.

i know you recommend honda civic's, ive had a look but i really dont like the shape of them, any other recommendations?

thanks in advance

exactly, the point is you could afford a new one...so getting work done etc is not going to hurt you too much, for the people who can't afford a brand new 1 are better off just getting a used Audi/VW/BMW rather than a used Merc

Yeah that's very true. I guess it boils down to whether you want to service yourself, or preserve resale value by getting it stamped.

I replaced the air filter in the BM for 13 quid myself. 5 Minute job, easy as piss. BMW quoted 75 quid to do it. It's disgraceful but a little DIY and it's much more affordable.

Audi A3 only 60k miles -- Full audi service history (cambelt change) -- 4 years warranty avaliable (Didnt read it all just picked out the main things i saw)

Very smooth to drive -- decent speed + fuel comsumption.

Something like that would do you nice (if you like them obviously)
