Im not sure.Striking options. Bendtner 21 will get more gamesVan Persie 25 will be starter.Eduardo 25, if fit, will get more games and be a starter once he proves himself (consitency and fitness)Arshavin 28, will play wide and upfront in rotation and depending on performances and who we are playing. Vela, 21 will be used as a sub and in carling cup, maninly as backup.Walcott 20, will be used out wide and may gt his chance up top now and again and depending on how he performs up their and dependin on other midfields and strikers. Al players ar of age and status where they want to be playing all the time, bar maybe Vela, so i dunno what message buying another striker sends to them and where it puts them in the pecking order. Wenger wont sing another older striker, so again what message /implication wil it have on Bendtner, walcott and vela mainly. If we were to get a striker, who could i think of that is available.Huntelaar. 25 years old, proven goalscorer and available. Dutch so no permit business needed. 6'1'' good in the air so could be a target man of sorts if we are looking direct replacement for Adebayor (oonly better).Problem is he would cost £15- 25mill.Anyway, in need of a Centre Mid indefinetly. WHO?

We NEED to get a striker inSheyi was our main man, he NEEDS 2be replaced
You think?Names?Ahead of a CM?Just curious as to what you're thinking. Speak on it.
We lost our main manhe needs 2 be replaced, its not one or the other coz we needed a CM since Flamini leftBoth positions need 2be addressed if we wna be successfulBut it depends what ulot want, whwen I say we need these players i mean it in terms of actually winning summink...If u lot wna come 4th then maybe we dnt need 2 replace SheyiSpurs, Villa, City all gna be stronger this year..
Bendtner 21 = Question marks, is he good enough to produce during a whole seasonVan Persie 25 = Will he stay fit?? Has the quality, will hit double figures (pens & free kicks)Eduardo 25 = Uproven in the Premier League, 17 apps = 4 goals, he has quality but has had a serious injArshavin 28 = Will chip in, quality player but again unproven in a 38 game premier league seasonVela, 21 = Uproven in the Premier League, question marksWalcott 20 = Used as a winger as Wenger thinks he aint good enough to start upfront
Im not overly confident entering the season with just that

Centre mid is one of the most important areas of a team.If we had a settled midfield 4, a lot could change.Flamini, Fabregas, Rosicky and Hleb were a settled midfield 4 and we all know how close we were to the title that year. They were very influential as any good midfield should be..We have striking options upfront that can work on paper so the centre of midfield is more of a priority.I think we do need a striker but that shouldn't be addressed before a centre mid, the spine of the team needs to be put together.

if arsenal had as much ambition as most of the man on here regarding signings we would be all right. but right now it looks like top 6 if were lucky, the board need to fix up and either stan kroenke or usmanov need to buy the club. im seriously worried right now. were never in the running to sign top players i.e tevez, he would of added something special to the team but instead were looking at chamakh!!!! who the f*ck is this guy. i used to agree with "in arsene we trust" but f*ck THAT in the words of thierry the great "you allways remember winners" an we aint won or gonna win sh*t for years.

Remember when Nik said this..

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner believes he will be better than Sweden star Zlatan Ibrahimovic within three years. The 21-year-old Denmark international is still yet to establish himself as a regular starter at Arsenal, but he is convinced that he will have a breakthrough year next season. And, ahead of his country’s World Cup qualifier against Sweden on Saturday, he has revealed that he plans to outshine the Inter striker in the coming years.“In about three years, I will be better than Zlatan,” he told BT.“He is older than me and has now reached his peak as the top scorer in Serie A, but I have a plan, I believe in it and I am ready.“Next season, I can finally make my breakthrough and then I still have two years to become better than Zlatan – and I will.“By then I will be close to my peak and will be able to look upon myself as one of the world’s greatest strikers.”
He must have known Bayor was leaving & it sounds like Wenger has promised him more playing time so I ain't holding my breath for a new striker.

I used to think like that, but with Wenger we have to be realistic. I don't see both being addressed. I honestly see one or two more players going out as well.Like I said, any names you mention to replace Adebayor's calibre would literally take up every penny we sold him for. I'd love him to replace him with someone class. But then there's a reason Wenger buys young. We do need 2 in. If we get the right two I see us challenging. One definately needs to be someone playing next to Cesc.

If we get that midfield gen and Fabregas can stop auditioning for a box to box midfielder allowing him to fulfill his attacking duties then we will be bless IMO.After that no need for a striker because reflecting on what Bendtner has shown he works our system alot better now and makes productive plays unlike the money whore.

he doesnt look too bad on the ball, its just one on ones that scare me, there were 4-5 oppertunities from the same match. and we already have a problem taking chances and grinding out results.

Wenger - We’re keeping an eye on Chamakhhttp://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archiv ... on-chamakhArsène Wenger has admitted publically for the first time that he is “keeping an eye” on Marouane Chamakh. The media have linked Arsenal with the 25-year-old Bordeaux striker for much of the summer but there has been no official word until now. With Emmanuel Adebayor about to finalise the formalities of his move to Manchester City, there may be room for another forward at Emirates Stadium. However, after the 2-2 draw at Barnet on Saturday, Wenger would not confirm he would be definitely adding another front man. Yet if he does require attacking re-enforcements then Chamakh would be in his sights. “We keep an eye on him,” said Wenger. “He is one of the players that we will follow and if we went for a striker then he would be one of the possibilities.”

Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh has all but given up on signing for Arsenal but remains hopeful of securing a move to a Premier League side.Arsenal have been linked with Chamakh, with Gunners boss Arséne Wenger reportedly seeing him as an ideal replacement for Emmanuel Adebayor, who recently completed a move to Manchester City. However, the 25-year-old does not think he will end up at the Emirates Stadium. "I don't really believe it much any more," he told L'Equipe. Chamakh claims Sunderland, Blackburn, Tottenham or Fulham are the more likely destinations."My bosses (at Bordeaux) are trying to convince me to stay," said Chamakh. "But for me, it's a risk that I'll take. It's my dearest wish." Chamakh has spent his entire career at Bordeaux since joining their youth set-up at the age of 16, but revealed he hopes to finalise a move before Ligue 1 champions set off for Canada next Thursday."Frankly my head isn't in going to Canada," he said. "My head is in England. We're talking about my first transfer, I didn't know anything about all the problems that this could pose. I'm having bad nights at the moment."http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/ju...-premier-league
