i have developed over the years my perfect toastie.layered in this order-thick cut white breadwafer thin turkey ham,wensleydale chesse,ground black pepperbaked beans (strain with a fork so they dont spill sauce everywhere)peri peri spice flakesbread with thin scraping of buttercook in the george forman grill, turn it occasionally to get the nice lines on it till golden browncut into triangles (ESSENTIAL FOR FULL ENJOYMENT)eat with bbq sauce or nandos peri peri hot sauce

I don't really like ham or melted cheese.Might go make a honey one. The one in my halls is getting rinsed everyday by the others I might as well give it a try

^^ the beauty of a toastie is you can put anything in it that you would put in a sandwich, it just tastes nicer

i usually do ham,cheese and lea n perrins

or tuna and cheese

or beans and bacon

someone mentioned honey somewhere and i think i might need to try that with some chicken or ham sounds eaty

the kind of thing you have every day for a month, then get sick of them, forget, remember a year later have them every day for a month, get sick of them, forget etc.....

this cycle has happened to me on numerous occasions.

i think the trick is to vary the sanwiches then u wont get sick of them lol

better off gettin a foreman grill tho so u can do them and other stuff.

theyre a bugger to clean though.

especially if uve been cooking bacon; sh*t gets stuck on the griddle

nah it don't, put it in the middle of the cheese not near the edges it remains juicy

i know it sounds weird i thought it was weird then i tasted it mmmmmmmmmmmmm yummy

Before you put it on the grill, spread the TINIEST amount of butter onto the OUTSIDE of the bread (i.e. the surface of the bread that's gonna touch the grill)

sh*t will come out golden brown, crisp and delicious. Believe me.
