Yes when you compare Song to OUR other central midfielders (partnering Fab) he stands out because he has performed better than them and no one else does what he does on OUR team. Compare him to the other top clubs players in the same position and he's a nobody, compare him to the players we used to have in that position again he's a nobody. Your just accepting what Wenger has done with the team and not looking at the bigger picture. Wenger still tells us we can compete with the big clubs, yet when faced against and compared to them we are not near and haven't been for some years. The team has no balls, 2 d*ckheads in goal and no defensive cohesiveness yet apparently is only one or two tweaks we need. Every year we need one or two tweeks but we havent progressed in 3/4 years, major changes need to be made.
Who's better at Man Utd at doing that job? Mikel isn't better than Song. Huddlestone/Palacious are not better than Song. Lucas is not better than Song. apart from Man City's lot then who?Regardless its not about one individual, as a unit we defend horribly, Wenger has built a time that simply just wants to attack, and then doesnt even want to at least press the ball or track runners.
Why compare Huddlestone/Palacios they play in a different system they dont have 1 solitary player responsible for providing a screenmight aswell say son is better then modric while your at itMikel does the job Song should do but is in a team that is generally better protected. Its alright playing the way we do aginst the TOP TOP teams if EVERYONE is fit, otherwise Wenger needs to start changing it up.
dont think our usual style is good enough even when everyone is fit. last time we beat chelsea at stamford bridge, it wasnt our usual passing style... we played some gritty sh*t that day. although drogba wasnt playing.
We played the same way, our passing game, tbh, just played 4-4-2 with Denilson on the right, Adebayor worked hard, and van Persie was clinical. Either way we had van Persie and Fabregas starting, and yeah they didnt have Drogba and Big Phil was manager and he managed them like they was a Brazilain team that could outplay us, f*ck*ng off tactics, something Ancelotti doesnt do, teams respect our play, Wenger doesnt respect other teams tho.

Song obviously has the freedom to do it or you would see Wenger/Pat Rice barking at him. We have centre-backs who pass Fabregas in moves... Again I'll go back to my point that its not about individuals and if you are going to pick a individual in our defensive frailities Alex Song would be my last pick but hey.
