Lol...If you want goalsTorres > Zlatan(Zlatan isn't prolific btw, a consistent scorer but not prolific, Torres isn't but still could be)If you want a player who's ability exceeds his outputZlatan > Torres
That wasn't the squadits was something like thisLobontTrabelsiChivuPasanenMaxwellGalasekPienaarDe JongVDVSneijderMidoMiteaZlatanVan Der MeydeHeitingaVan Dammethem late C5 nights when Barnes will have his show then they will show either Ajax or Robben/Kezman/Rommedahl running riot, then Argentine football(they were the days)
When your 6'5, 14 stone and a natural target-man, it's a lot easier.Plus, out of Zlatans 15 goals, I can remember off the top of my head a number of them being from some very nice assists.
Ibra has 15 goals in how many matches?Torres has 7, has been injured, went to the world cup, played in a team managed by Hodgson and fed off scraps. Torres is a better goal scorer. 63 prem goals in 100 games shows this.Granted Ibra does some crazy things with the ball. But Torres has moments of v.good skill, his pass against Bolton at Home and another pass he played yesterday (or last week, memory evades me) are examples. But nobody even cares, his goals are enough, this isn't a nike football advert.
TBH, Torres has played for Ath. Madrid & Liverpool.Zlatan for Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona & Milan.I'm not making a like for like comparison, but stilllll......
agree with kanetorres has had horrendus service over the last few yearsat a top club torres would prob of been in top 3 in the world
SorryBut I think its easier to equal Torres' goal record in Spain than in Italy, simply because of footballing style. If Zlatan spent his whole career in Spain like Fernando with his Godly technique AND physicality do you really think he wouldn't be hitting mad figures by now?
Thats an absolutely irrelevant question. 'If he spent his whole life in Spain'You can't theorise a whole career and make a claim on the supposed outcome. If he spent his whole life in Spain he would be a different player.
Was wondering the point of this a few hours ago. Those that prefer Torres will prefer Torres. Those that prefer Ibrahimovic will prefer Ibrahimovic. When Torres is 29 he will have scored more than Ibrahimovic at the same age but Ibra would have shown more tricks, flicks ectBun this back and forth argument, it's not going anywhere
They've both played in Spain. It's also pretty fair to compare, considering Inter, and Juventus, were better teams than Athletico. (who had just been promoted)So if your scoring13161914Goals, with said team, from the ages of 18, still a very unpolished player, it's fair to say that you are a better goalscorer. Not even sure why this has become an argument about who is the better footballer, Torres is by far the better goalscorer, talent and technical ability aside.
82 apps 26 goals for Spain66 apps 25 goals for Sweden. So playing for a worse team is some wack excuse. Zlatan has similar/better stats, as well as carrying a team to a league win, as well as not playing his whole career as a striker...Just sayin....(tbh this is a very back and forth discussion, ive made my case ill leave it there)
Don't use International statistics, because when people come with Crouch's record, nobdoy wants to hear. But it is a further demonstration of how you can use statistics to tell a story, I guess.

Ibra has been doing the job Torres has failed to do this year, play as a loan striker and feed off hoofs and get the job done.

Players like Hleb suggest otherwise. And not really when you play a ludicrous amount of money to buy someone to score goals.

But then you cant definitively compare 2 players who have had different delivery and played in different countries with different footballing styles
