This situation and the fact that this has happened abroad has attracted so much media attention.However Dadinho makes a good point also. There are plenty of incidents involving children of an ethnic minority background that don't attract 1/100th of the media attention this has.Perhaps because the media feel that the UK can better identify with this situation perhaps (I'm just speculating and not drawing for any kind of race card). Simple.Yes this is generally what rewards are designed to do.However in this situation where a child has been snatched means that whoever supplies the authorities with information leading to the recovery of the child was most probably complicit in the abduction either before or after the fact.If investigated and found to be complicit which in all likelihood they would have been then they will be eligible for jail time also. Besides what idiot would confide when there is such a large reward....no one, which would indicate that they may have confided before the reward became so large and the reward indeed lured them, which means the did not divuldge their information to the police immediately. Thus accesories after the fact. (This only applies to those who give detailed information about the kidnappers and who they are rather than vague information such as a siting).
