Some of my best mates are people I work with. But don't get too drunk in front of the bosses!
I agree, it's all about being mates with colleagues. It helps your career to no end if you are well liked among your peers. My cousin made the mistake of getting plastered in front of the big boss man at his work and missed out first time at a promotion probably as a result.(Got it a year after though).

ive got a geek themed night out coming up on the 22nd with the girls from work, going round the clubs and bars dressed up as school geeks . ( this was not my idea btw)ive only been here a month so i thought it would be rude if i declined their offer.at this place, they have a work night out once a month.

My last 2 jobs were at law firms 1 in the uK & everyother Thurs we wld hv drinks in the conf rm ( or gdn if its hot), it wld be tame there as the bosses were ther, but it was a good free starter to a crazy night. So long as u dont go too mad, its ok.My lasy job we'd go out quite a bit & a few times a few of us (me included) hv embarrassed ourselves. But we were the regualr crew so it was like our lil thing & the others needen't know. 1 of the ring leaders was the senior partner.Im now at a tiny weeny law firm, so those days r behind me.

i share nada in common with any of them, but because we're together 8 hours a day you're inevitably guna develop a friendship, i go out to dinner with them. they tried taking me to a dance club they like, i sat there with a disgusted look on my face.. now they know better.
